If you're serious about getting big and lean, it's time you knew about a new
. This powerful
is scientifically engineered to help men lose fat and muscle up.
Losing body fat can be a very tricky endeavor. To achieve real fat loss, you need to burn more calories than you consume, a school of thought supported by the basic laws of thermodynamics. For the general public, that's not such a complicated equation, but for bodybuilders, the trick is to burn calories while holding onto muscle mass.
While a lot of people turn to
weight loss supplements
, the secret that has gradually come to light is that some thermogenics also reduce body mass in the process, which is not exactly the kind of weight loss bodybuilders are looking for.
So the question remains, how does one reduce body fat, while at the same time, preserving muscle mass? Would you believe the answer might come from the protein powder category?
Of course, the primary reason you consume protein is for mass gain, and any fat loss benefits you might receive are more of a positive side effect than anything else. That is, until a new form of protein was introduced to the industry that has both the scientists and athletes buzzing over its remarkable and specific fat loss attributes. That brand of protein is scientifically designed specifically to reduce body fat, while at the same time preserve your muscle mass. It's called
, and based on the latest science it appears to be the best solution available to this age-old problem for bodybuilders.
contains a specialized, bio-active fractionated protein matrix, which provides a precise dose of high grade hydrolyzed whey isolate protein along with additional amounts of the key essential amino acid leucine, as well as other bioactive peptides and calcium, for valuable nutritional support. In fact, a recently published study tracking test subjects using Prolibra over 12 weeks found that when individuals consumed Prolibra protein they lost more weight, more fat and less muscle1. These are the exact results desired by many of us who exercise to improve our health and body composition.
Think about that for a minute.
is clinically proven to reduce fat while preserving muscle. I don't know of another protein supplement out there that can make that assertion. Furthermore, these results were found when the individuals only followed a healthy, reduced-calorie diet-and did not exercise! Results from other studies suggest that adding a
containing Prolibra to your regular exercise program may promote greater improvements in your body composition.
Maintaining Muscle Mass While Losing Fat
Studies have shown that adding protein to your diet while cutting calories may help maintain muscle mass while also promoting some fat loss 2, 3, 4. Few studies, however, have added protein in the form of a dietary protein supplement while following a restricted calorie diet to determine fat loss and maintenance of muscle mass.
In an Australian study, 70 obese/overweight men and women (48.4(+or-)1.8 years) supplemented their diet with whey protein, casein protein or glucose to determine changes in body composition and health markers in the blood. No exercise program was followed and no other changes in the diet were made during the 12-week study. While no changes in body composition were noted between the three groups, significant improvements in triglycerides, total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol were found along with reductions in fasting insulin and insulin resistance scores in those individuals who supplemented with whey protein (Pal etal., unpublished observations).
Similarly, a 12-week study by Frestedt and colleagues1 had participants follow an American Heart Association diet (55% carbohydrate, 15% protein, 30% fat) that was reduced in calories by 500 calories each day. Twice daily, one group ingested a dietary supplement containing the specialized formulation, Prolibra, which contained high levels of leucine, bioactive peptides and milk calcium. The other, control group ingested an isocaloric placebo. At the conclusion, the subjects taking Prolibra retained twice as much lean muscle with 79% fat-loss compared to the control group at 51%. It's important to highlight that even though no exercise program was followed and similar amounts of weight were lost from both groups, the Prolibra group lost significantly more fat (~8 lbs vs. 4.5 lbs), while also losing less muscle than the control group1. These results were exciting because the ability to sustain muscle mass while dieting without exercising had yet to be demonstrated
to that degree.
Leucine Plays a Critical Role
When looking at the specialized ingredients contained within Vectron and Prolibra, a few deserve a little more discussion. To start, dietary calcium has been suggested to help burn fat and stimulate changes in body composition5, 6. Another compelling prospect is the essential amino acid, leucine, which means we have to get it from our diet. The essential amino acids are known to be critically important for protein synthesis or muscle growth7, may help to prevent muscle breakdown8 and are known to be a valuable source of fuel for muscle9. Only a few studies have investigated the role of leucine during dieting conditions and what they've found is promising.
In a 12-week study, 38 overweight police officers aged 34(+or-) 4 years were placed into one of three groups10. All groups followed a reduced calorie diet that provided 80% of daily caloric needs and a four-day-per-week resistance exercise program. Two groups supplemented their diets on a daily basis with either casein or whey protein. Each day two doses (37 grams each) of either casein or whey protein were provided, resulting in a daily protein intake of around 1.5 grams of protein per kilogram of body mass per day (120 grams of protein for a 180 pound male). Casein and whey protein are forms of milk protein that are considered to be of a high quality and each contain a relatively high amount of the essential amino acids,
including leucine. Both groups experienced significantly greater reductions in fat mass (-12.3 pounds vs. -5.5 pounds) than the control group and greater increases in lean mass (9 pounds vs. 4.5 pounds).
Research has shown us that drastic reductions in caloric intake will wreck your metabolism and result in drastic reductions in muscle. Similarly, ingestion of supplements containi
ng thermogenic ingredients can result in immediate increases in energy expenditure and some fat burning, but over time a tolerance is built and the energy-burning effect diminishes, while at the same time, some mass is maybe lost in the process with certain types. The combination that has consistently been shown to yield positive effects is when you combine a regular exercise program containing resistance training with a diet that restricts your daily calorie intake by around 500 calories per day and contains a greater proportion of protein than carbohydrates. Furthermore, recent studies have suggested that supplementing your diet with a dietary protein source containing high amounts of the essential amino acids, especially leucine, can result in favorable changes in body composition with and without exercise.
The Vectron Prolibra Connection
While much of the above science is cause for celebration, it should be emphasized once again that few product formulations contain these ingredients.
, was the first supplemental protein to contain Prolibra. Since its introduction, the response to
among those in the athletic community has been overwhelmingly positive, and its popularity has skyrocketed. Athletes appear to have recognized immediately that what they were getting was not just another anabolic protein for muscle synthesis, but a precise scientifically engineered system of advanced weight management.
As such, Vectron is a very exciting new physique enhancement tool that has made the ultimate goal of simultaneous muscle maintenance and fat loss more of a scientific reality than ever before.
represents an elite vastly superior grade protein that stands several levels above other proteins available to bodybuilders today. Even beyond all of the compelling research behind
, what truly distinguishes Vectron
are its dramatic physique enhancement effects.
