From soccer player to competitive natural bodybuilder, Jude Achu muscled up with the help of AndroTest.
In Jude Achu's home country of Nigeria, there's one athletic activity that rises above all others. And although he had a big, bodybuilderesque frame even as a youngster, Achu heeded the call of the world's most popular sport long before he ever touched a weight.
"Soccer was our pastime in Nigeria," he says. "I always played soccer. However, after seeing movies like First Blood and Rambo, I became motivated to grow as much muscle as Sylvester Stallone."
Achu began lifting at 14 and started filling out that aforementioned frame. Now a resident of Hamden, Connecticut -- his family moved to the U.S. when he was 18 -- the 29-year-old competes as an NPC amateur, and has a number of titles already to his credit. "My philosophy has always been to train hard and train smart," he explains. "I like lifting extremely heavy weights, while at the same time executing proper form and technique."
It was a famous bodybuilder who prodded Achu to don posing trunks for the first time. "I worked out at a gym co-owned by the legendary
Mike Katz," he recalls. "Mike and Jerry Mastrangelo both host the NPC Connecticut Championships. With encouragement from Mike, I decided to enter and I was crowned the overall novice champion at the 2003 contest."
Bitten by the competitive bug,
Achu packed on some pounds between 2003 and 2005 -- he went up to the heavyweight from the light-heavys in the 2004 NPC Connecticut, where he finished first in his division but lost out on the overall -- then stepped on stage in April 2005 at the Musclemania Atlantic and dominated the whole show.

Following that, he was victorious again at the
International Natural Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (INBF) Connecticut Championships. Little did he know at that point he was about to encounter something that would take him to the next level of muscular size. "I discovered
AndroTest after the Connecticut show," he says.
"After dominating the championships, I knew it was time to improve and get even better than I was. So I used
AndroTest and the results were astounding! I nailed my conditioning and drastically improved my muscle mass. This is a supplement every
natural bodybuilder should be using to really
maximize their muscle gains and compete at the top."
The 5'11", 204-pounder won his top title yet in 2005, and says he owes a lot of his new found muscle mass to
AndroTest. "After several cycles of AndroTest, I was ready to do battle again," Achu says. "In November 2005, back-to-back, two weeks apart, I entered the INBF Monster Mash in Connecticut, won the overall and turned WNBF pro, my biggest win to date.
Following that, I won the NPC Connecticut Championships." Proud of his
natural bodybuilding status, Achu was all the more thankful to find a supplement as powerful as
ProSource's potent testosterone booster.
"My workouts became meaningful to me because
AndroTest gave me the mental focus in the gym and a continuous pump outside the gym," he states. "I didn't get fatigued like I used to. I increased my strength and packed on a lot of new, dense muscle."
To fuel his training, Achu, who is currently employed in manufacturing technology and has also worked security for clients including the Nigerian Embassy in New York City, eats six meals a day, meticulously measuring and weighing his servings to ensure all bases are covered. In the off-season, he consumes 260 grams of protein, 500 grams of carbs and 60 grams of fat daily as he grows to 245 pounds. He sometimes has a cheat meal for sanity's sake, but otherwise relies on clean foods such as brown rice, oatmeal, sweet potatoes and broccoli for carbohydrates, and chicken, turkey, salmon, tuna, beef and egg whites for his protein needs.
Supplement-wise, in addition to
AndroTest, he uses
glutamine,
caffeine and a daily
multivitamin.
With his success thus far in bodybuilding, Achu is looking at bigger goals ahead -- not shy about his ambition, he states, "In the next five years, I want to compete and win major contests, and be an advocate for natural bodybuilding."
He also has guidance for those who hope to follow in his footsteps. "My advice for someone starting a bodybuilding program is to do the basic, compound exercises; don't get carried away with the amount of weight you can lift and always execute proper form," he says. "For diet, I recommend eating whole foods, relying on
quality protein sources and
limiting fat intake. Eat six meals a day, and spread those out to give at least two hours, but no more than three, between them. And if you're looking to add substantial mass and improve the quality of your workouts, you can't go wrong with
AndroTest ."
