The Scoop: Recently Reported: IFBB Pro League athletes and athletes from other sports leagues had career updates or made recent guest appearances at various sports, bodybuilding, physique and fitness events. The latest "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report" Pro Athletes Roundup includes a broad mix of strength, combat and physique -- with pros from the Ultimate Fighting Championships, World Wrestling Entertainment, World's Strongest Man Championships, International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness, as well as Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend (the "Super Bowl of bodybuilding").

The "So What?": Over the weekend, the featured guest posers at the NPC Naples-Bonita Classic Championships in Immokalee, Florida, were IFBB Pro Hidetada Yamagishi (who last competed at the Arnold Sports Festival, taking 2nd place to 212-Division winner IFBB Pro Jose Raymond at the 2015 IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships) and IFBB Pro Erik Ramirez (who earned his IFBB Pro card by winning the Heavyweight Class and Overall title at the 2014 IFBB North American Bodybuilding Championships and is prepping for his pro debut in the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series). Elsewhere in Florida, retired IFBB Pro Bob Cicherillo emceed the NPC Riptide Classic and NPC Panama City Championships.

IFBB Pro Fouad Abiad hosted the OPA Fouad Abiad Bodybuilding Championships in Mississauga, Ontario, in Canada, where the guest-poser was 24-year-old, rookie IFBB Pro Iain Valliere (who earned his IFBB Pro card by winning the 2014 IFBB Amateur Olympia Latin America Championships). Wrestler/IFBB Pro Andy Haman posed at the NPC Southern Colorado and Armed Forces Championships in Colorado Springs. IFBB Pro Fred Smalls took the guest-posing stage at the NPC Midway USA Championships in Wichita, Kansas.

IFBB Pro Kim Jun Ho won the BodyPower Pro Championships in the United Kingdom, where a massive amount of athletes made appearances at the BodyPower Expo: Mr. Olympia winners IFBB Pro Phil Heath, IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman, IFBB Pro Dorian Yates, and IFBB Pro Jay Cutler; Arnold Classic division winners IFBB Pro Rich Gaspari, IFBB Pro Kevin Levrone, IFBB Pro Branch Warren, IFBB Pro Shawn Rhoden, IFBB Pro Steve Kuclo, 212 IFBB Pro Flex Lewis, and Physique IFBB Pro Sadik Hadzovic; World Wrestling Entertainment WWE Hall of Famers; WSM World's Strongest Man strongman contenders Terry Hollands and Eddie Hall; UFC Ultimate Fighting Championships MMA fighter Luke Rockhold; plus IFBB Pro Roelly Winklaar, IFBB Pro William Bonac, IFBB Pro Ben Pakulski, IFBB Pro Robert Burneika, IFBB Pro Manuel Romero, IFBB Pro Larissa Reis, IFBB Pro Amanda Latona, IFBB Pro Mario Van Steenberghe; as well as UK bodybuilders IFBB Pro Zack Khan, IFBB Pro Anthony Bailes, IFBB Pro James Llewellin, IFBB Pro Ricardo Corriea, IFBB Pro Nathan De Asha (Nathan Sylvester), and WPF Mr. Universe Heavyweight winner Neale Cranwell.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: As the world decompresses from the recent pro-boxing hype that saw Floyd Mayweather defeat Manny Pacquiao in the MayPac "Fight of the Century," some focus has shifted back to the other popular combat sport – mixed martial arts in the Ultimate Fighting Championships. Currently the #1 ranked UFC middleweight, MMA fighter Luke Rockhold is considered one of the league's rising stars. On the verge of a UFC middleweight title shot, the 30-year-old former wrestler (and former Strikeforce middleweight champion) from Santa Cruz, California, has some proclaiming that he could be the next Anderson Silva (a legendary former UFC Middleweight Champion with a 34-6 career record, including 26 finishes, 18 first-round finishes). To date, Rockhold's career record is 14-2, including 12 finishes, 10 first-round finishes; hence, the current contender's finishing rate outpaces that of the predecessor. We'll soon see if the 6'1", 185-pounder's kickboxing and Jiu Jitsu skills can put some UFC gold around his waist.
