The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest, Fitness Industry Event, Andrew Oye's Pro Athletes Roundup
The Scoop:
It's April, which means ordinarily "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report"
would report results of the IFBB FIBO Power Pro Bodybuilding
Championships; however, this year, the 20.000 fitness fans that flooded
the FIBO Power Health and Fitness Expo in Cologne, Germany -- one of
Europe's largest fitness events -- were not treated to the IFBB
professional bodybuilding contest held in conjunction with the expo
because promoters elected not to stage the pro competition in 2014.
However, as usual, the expo was packed with sports stars.
The "So What?":
Despite being unable to defend the title he won at the 2013 FIBO Pro
Bodybuilding Championships, IFBB Pro Cedric McMiIlan joined a cast of
"Andrew Oye's Pro Athletes Roundup" regulars and a mega lineup from the
bodybuilding, weight-training and martial arts communities at the expo,
including: 8-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman, reigning 3-time
Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath, 6-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Dorian
Yates, 4-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Jay Cutler, Arnold Classic 212
Division and 2-time Olympia 212 Showdown Winner IFBB Pro Flex Lewis,
2-time Arnold Classic Champ IFBB Pro Branch Warren, 2012 Arnold Classic
Europe Champion IFBB Pro Shawn Rhoden, 2011 Arnold Classic Europe and
2007 Arnold Classic Winner IFBB Pro Victor Martinez, and Germany's IFBB
Pro Dennis Wolf, recent winner of the Arnold Sports Festival's 2014 IFBB
Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships.
Masters Olympia Winner, 4-time Arnold Classic Champion and 2008 Mr.
Olympia IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson guest-posed, along with Germany's own
IFBB Pro Ronny Rockel. "The German Beast" IFBB Pro Markus Ruhl made an
appearance, as well as 1989 Arnold Classic Winner IFBB Pro Rich Gaspari,

Andrew Oye's Verdict:
While it's disappointing to lose an IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series contest like the FIBO show, it was probably due to the many other new contests popping up on the crowded IFBB Pro League schedule of events leading to Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend in Las Vegas. Again, the FIBO Expo seemingly made up for its cancelled pro-bodybuilding contest with an array other stuff and more stars: Ms. FIBO Power Beauty contest, an acrobatics performance, grappling, arm wrestling, Krav Maga, Crossfit, powerlifting, the FIBO Strongman ClassX Challenge with Heinz Ollesch, newly crowned 2014 WSM World's Strongest Man Zydrunas Savickas, KSW MMA Fighter and 5-time WSM Mariusz Pudzianowski, WBC and WBA Pro Boxing Heavyweight Champion Lennox Lewis, Pro Boxer Arthur Abraham, Pro Boxer Robert Stieglitz, UFC Fighter Dennis Siver, Guinness World Records feats, and...wait for it...a posedown between bodybuilders dressed as "Terminator" and "Conan The Barbarian," movie characters made famous, of course, by actor and 7-time Mr. Olympia Arnold Schwarzenegger.
