Recently Announced: The Los Angeles Fitness Expo will rock the Los Angeles Convention Center this weekend (January 29-30). The Fit Expo LA (TheFitExpo Southern California) includes product-sampling booths, martial arts demonstrations and MMA fights, as well as bodybuilding, strongman, CrossFit and powerlifting competitions, and nutrition and fitness seminars.
The "So What?":
The expo guest list also includes UFC Hall of Fame MMA Fighter Chuck Liddell ("The Iceman," Ultimate Fighting Championship Mixed Martial Artist), IFBB Pro Lou Ferrigno (2-time Mr. Universe, TV's "Incredible Hulk"), IFBB Pro Rich Gaspari (1989 IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships Winner), UFC Fighter Urijah Faber, IFBB Pro Alicia Marie, Jean Carrillo (World Champion Muay Thai Trainer), IFBB Pro Chris Faildo, Odd Haugen (IFSA Strongman Champion, WSM World's Strongest Man competitor), Sherry Goggin (Ms. Fitness America), Scot Mendelson (WPC World Powerlifting Congress Champion), IFBB Pro Alicia Harris, Bob Wall (Martial Artist, Actor in films with Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee), Javier Vazquez (Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy MMA Fighter), Roland Kickinger (Actor, Fitness Celebrity), MMA Fighter Sean Sherk (UFC Champ), IFBB Pro Amanda Latona, Paul Daniels (US Marine Corps Vet, Russian Kettlebell Instructor, 2nd Degree Black Belt Martial Artist), Phil Collen (Guitarist, Muay Thai Kickboxer), Carmen Electra (Actress, Hollywood Personality), Jamie Eason (Fitness Model) and Herb Dean (MMA Referee/Fighter).
Meanwhile, 2-time Arnold Classic Champion FBB Pro K. Greene hosts a seminar called "Guide to Bodybuilding and Posing" during first guest appearance in Dubai, UAE, this week (January 25-27). I recently reported that he would not defend his title at the 2011 Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic in Columbus in March.
Andrew Oye's Verdict:
Amid the barrage of competitions, celebs and fans at the L.A. Convention Center, reigning 4-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Jay Cutler will host a seminar called "The Winning Attitude," during which he shares aspects of his competitive career and training philosophies. Always an anticipated expo guest, Cutler's appeal at seminars of this sort is that he knows, better than many IFBB Pro League athletes, about maintaining a winning outlook while trying to secure the elusive 1st place throne. As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," Cutler placed 2nd in the Mr. Olympia contest six times before finally winning the title for the first time at the 2006 Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend, unseating 8-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman.
