ANDREW OYE'S IFBB PRO LEGENDS REPORT: MR. OLYMPIA ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER MAKES HOLLYWOOD COMEBACK AS COMIC-BOOK, ANIMATED TV SUPERHERO 'THE GOVERNATOR'
Legends Update, Career Updates, Entertainment Industry News, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup The Scoop:
Just Reported: Actor, 7-time Mr. Olympia and retired IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger will make his Hollywood comeback as an animated superhero in a comic-book and TV series called "The Governator," a nickname that references his real-life, combined identities as a (former) California Governor and an action-movie star (specifically, his cyborg character in the 1984 film "Terminator"). The "So What?":
Recently reported in MUSCLE INK Magazine's "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," Arnold Schwarzenegger planned to announce details about a new "international TV series" at an April press conference at the 2011 MIPTV Media Market in Cannes, France (Marche International des Programmes de Television).
According to Entertainment Weekly, Schwarzenegger is teaming with comic specialist Stan Lee to develop the series that will incorporate aspects of the 63-year-old's real family life with fictional tales of a politician-turned-crime fighter. "It takes my entire career, if it's bodybuilding, if it's acting, if it's the governorship and combines it into one," says Schwarzenegger. The cartoon superhero will have a high-tech control center under his house, super vehicles, super suits, and a team of sidekicks to fight super villains. Andrew Oye's Verdict:
With the Arnold Sports Festival and Arnold Classic Bodybuilding Championships, Schwarzenegger remains a popular inspiration for IFBB Pro League athletes who train to be champions at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend. Now the entrepreneur is seeking stronger connections with the various audiences he reaches. I saw the sneak-peek preview sketches for the new superhero series, which will debut in 2012. With this project, it will be interesting to see whether the legendary professional bodybuilder (who once dominated the sport with a superhero-like physique) can distance himself from the divisiveness of politics among grownups and recapture the kid-friendly likeability he spawned with the 1990 film "Kindergarten Cop."
