The Item: IFBB Pro League Legends Update, Bodybuilding Industry News, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Just Reported: Over the weekend, in his native Thal, Austria, Hollywood actor ("Terminator," "Conan the Barbarian," "Pumping Iron"), former California Governor and 7-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger unveiled yet another humongous, 8-feet tall, 600-pound bronzed statue carved in his likeness. The statue immortalizes the bodybuilding legend in a classic physique pose and stands guard at his recently opened museum.

In an inspirational speech, Schwarzenegger told attendees: "My personal success has less to do with millions of dollars or with the headlines in the media that are not always positive and also not with being clapped on the shoulder by [President of the United States] Barack Obama and other world names. Personal success is the result of determination, hard work and stubbornness."

The "So What?": As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report" column and MUSCLE INK Magazine in February, Arnold Schwarzenegger gave final approval on the statue by an artist who is also working on a statue of Schwarzenegger as governor. In addition to tracking the former governor's return to Hollywood movies, in August, Oye reported that Schwarzenegger's former, childhood home had been converted to a museum honoring the stages of his career in sports, politics and entertainment -- featuring his old barbell, governor's desk and  "Terminator" memorabilia. "For me, this is not only a museum," said Schwarzenegger (a.k.a. "The Governator"). "It is also a symbol of will...Everyone has a chance."

Andrew Oye's Verdict: Arnold Schwarzenegger traveled from Austria to Madrid, Spain, to crown the first champion of the inaugural Arnold Classic Europe -- a new franchise of the annual Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio, (where a replica of the statue was dedicated by Dr. Bob Goldman's ISHOF International Sports Hall of Fame). The weekend's events were highlights in a bumpy year of highs and lows for Schwarzenegger. Yet, his legacy remains strong as a champion in the pantheon of IFBB Pro League athletes (like IFBB Pro Larry Scott, IFBB Pro Sergio Oliva, IFBB Pro Franco Columbu, IFBB Pro Frank Zane, IFBB Pro Lee Haney, IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman and IFBB Pro Dorian Yates) who have dominated the stage at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend to collect multiple Mr. Olympia titles and Sandow trophies. Schwarzenegger extends his influence by promoting the sport of professional bodybuilding for the next generation of competitors with via his IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships.
