The Item: Career Updates, Special Guest Appearances, Legends Updates, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Recently Announced: This week, MUSCLE INK Magazine cover athlete and legendary 8-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman travels "across the pond" for his Official UK Tour. Events include training seminars with guest speakers, and a "Show Me What You Got" competition for fans to impress the world-renowned champion. Coleman's 2012 United Kingdom appearance schedule:

May 24 - Birmingham
May 25 - Manchester
May 27 - Cardiff
May 28 - London

The "So What?": Promotional material for the tour proclaims, "This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see this Goliath." Although, since retiring from the competitive bodybuilding stage in 2007, Ronnie Coleman spends most his time operating his sports-nutrition business, touring and making guest appearances at fitness events like Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend and the Arnold Sports Festival; so, many fans, especially US fans, sill get to see the IFBB Hall of Fame bodybuilding icon several times per year. UK-based IFBB Pro Zack Khan is scheduled to appear alongside Coleman on some dates, where the Olympian will greet his British fans who have fewer chances to interact with him.

On a side note, Coleman competed in the IFBB England Grand Prix five times, earning 5th place in 1996 (won by IFBB Pro Dorian Yates); 5th place in 1997 (won by IFBB Pro Kevin Levrone); 1st place in 1999 (IFBB Pro Flex Wheeler in 2nd); 1st place in 2000 (IFBB Pro Jay Cutler in 2nd); and 1st place in 2004 (IFBB Pro Chris Cormier in 2nd).

Andrew Oye's Verdict: Ever a force in the pro bodybuilding industry, Ronnie Coleman's fan base remains strong. As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," Ronnie Coleman won the IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships in 2001, and he won the Mr. Olympia contest consecutively from 1998 to 2005, eventually tying the record of fellow legend IFBB Pro Lee Haney with eight Olympia Sandow trophies. The new IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Points System aims to find the next generation of IFBB Pro League athletes who can rule the Olympia stage at the "Super Bowl of bodybuilding" and follow in the footsteps of the greats like Coleman, Haney, and Schwarzenegger (as well as other Mr. Olympia titleholders: IFBB Pro Larry Scott, IFBB Pro Sergio Oliva, IFBB Pro Franco Columbu, IFBB Pro Frank Zane, IFBB Pro Dorian Yates, IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson, IFBB Pro Jay Cutler, and, most recently, 2011 winner IFBB Pro Phil Heath).
