The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop:
Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Shawn Rhoden reaped a 1st place victory in the Open Division at the 2012 Dallas Pro Bodybuilding Championships, Europa Super Show in Texas. IFBB Pro Hidetada Yamagishi nabbed 2nd place. IFBB Pro Toney Freeman took 3rd place. IFBB Pro Roelly Winklaar was given 4th place. The 5th place spot went to IFBB Pro Ed Nunn.

The remaining field: IFBB Pro Todd Jewell (6th), IFBB Pro  Brandon Curry (7th), IFBB Pro Grigori Atoyan (8th), IFBB Pro Jeff Long (9th), IFBB Pro Lee Banks (10th), IFBB Pro Pablo Ayala Zayas (11th), IFBB Pro An Nguyen (12th), IFBB Pro Manuel Lomeli (13th), IFBB Pro K. Williams (14th), IFBB Pro Marc Lavoie (15th), followed by IFBB Pro Sean Allan, IFBB Pro Troy Alves, IFBB Pro Augustus Carter, IFBB Pro Rodney Davis, IFBB Pro Cesar Mendible, and IFBB Pro Zaher Moukahal.

The "So What?":
Fresh off his first International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness pro-bodybuilding contest win at last weekend's Tampa Pro Championships in Florida, Shawn Rhoden scored back-to-back victories, overtaking Dallas Pro defending champ Toney Freeman in Texas (home of 8-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman). As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System: (1st automatic qualification, 2nd - 4 Points, 3rd - 3 Points, 4th - 2 Points, 5th - 1 Point) applies to IFBB Pro League athletes' eligibility to compete at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend (September 29) to face reigning Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath. At the Europa Super Show Dallas Pro, Roelly Winklaar's younger brother IFBB Pro Quincy Winklaar made his pro debut in the 212 Division.

Andrew Oye's Verdict:
Like last year, I called the Dallas Super Show the "Battle of the X's." The difference this year is that Shawn "Flexatron" Rhoden (who landed in 3rd place in 2011) was the one chasing the 2011 winner Toney "X-Man" Freeman and last year's 2nd place finisher Ed Nunn. What a difference a year makes. Times... and placings... have not only changed, but flipped. The industry buzz is that, with continued improvements on an already impressive physique and comparisons to 4-time Arnold Classic Champion IFBB Pro Flex Wheeler, Shawn Rhoden is on track to be the new leader of marketing the "X-Frame" build. Setting aside a mediocre 8th place finish at the Arnold Classic USA in March (won by "Quadrasaurus" IFBB Pro Branch Warren), Rhoden should fare well at both the upcoming Olympia in Las Vegas, as well as the Arnold Sports Festival's European edition of the IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships in Madrid, Spain.
