The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Shawn Rhoden picked up yet another victory, named champion of the Open Division at the 2012 IFBB British Grand Prix Pro Bodybuilding Championships in Manchester, England. Powerlifter and IFBB Pro Johnnie Jackson took 2nd place. From his 6th place finish last year, IFBB Pro Toney Freeman leaped to 3rd place this year. IFBB Pro Robert Piotrkowicz placed in the 4th spot, followed by IFBB Pro Ronny Rockel, "The Rock," in 5th place.
The remaining field: IFBB Pro Roelly Winklaar (6th), "Calfasaurus" IFBB Pro Erik Fankhouser (7th), IFBB Pro Hidetada Yamagishi (8th), IFBB Pro Yuri Leonov (9th), IFBB Pro Cecil Croasdaile

The "So What?": As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System: (1st automatic qualification, 2nd - 4 Points, 3rd - 3 Points, 4th - 2 Points, 5th - 1 Point) applies to IFBB Pro League athletes' eligibility to compete at Joe Weider's Olympia in Las Vegas and face reigning Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath next year. Last year's UKBFF British Championships winner and IFBB Pro card earner Cecil Croasdaile made his professional bodybuilding debut at the 2012 British Grand Prix Championships. Veteran competitor Tommi Thorvildsen made a comeback after an approximate 3-year break from competing.
Andrew Oye's Verdict: Last year, massive IFBB Pro Branch Warren (a.k.a. "Quadrasaurus") won the British Grand Prix Pro Bodybuilding Championships and has a markedly different physique from this year's classically shaped victor Shawn Rhoden. The man they call "Flexatron" also just won the European IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships at the Arnold Sports Festival in Madrid, Spain; has had a stellar 2012 IFBB Pro League contest season with four overall victories; and seemingly represents a changing of the guard in physique competition.
