The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Juan Morel earned a 1st place victory, winning the Open Division at the 2014 IFBB Toronto Pro Bodybuilding Championships. Powerlifter IFBB Pro Johnnie Jackson powered his way into 2nd place. Matching his same placing from last year, IFBB Pro Jon Delarosa remained in the 3rd place spot. Veteran IFBB Pro Toney Freeman took the 4th position in the competition, trailed by IFBB Pro Lionel Beyeke in 5th place.

The remaining field: making his pro debut -- CBBF Canadian National Super-Heavyweight and Overall Champ -- IFBB Pro Henri-Pierre Ano (6th), IFBB Pro Jeff Long (7th), IFBB Pro Zaher Moukahal (9th), IFBB Pro Clarence DeVis (10th), IFBB Pro Marshel Herman (11th), IFBB Pro Santana Anderson (12th), IFBB Pro Hunnington Glanville (13th), IFBB Pro Chris White (14th), IFBB Pro Saiid Kamara (15th), IFBB Pro Fedel Clarke (16th).

The "So What?": As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro Muscle Report," the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System (1st automatic qualification, 2nd - 4 Points, 3rd - 3 Points, 4th - 2 Points, 5th - 1 Point) applies to IFBB Pro League athletes' eligibility to compete at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend (September 18-21) in Las Vegas to face reigning Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath. IFBB Pro Victor Martinez was the winner of the 2013 Toronto Pro SuperShow.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: Since earning an IFBB Pro card at the 2011 IFBB North American Championships, Juan Morel seems to be on a strong path, finishing in the Top 5 at all seven of the professional contests he has entered thus far, including a win at the 2012 Europa Battle of Champions and 2nd runner-up placings at the Arnold Sports Festival's 2014 IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships in Brasil (won by IFBB Pro Steve Kuclo) and the New York Pro Championships (won by IFBB Pro Mamdouh Elssbiay, a.k.a. "Big Ramy"). Surprisingly, none of the most prominent Canadian pros -- IFBB Pro Ben Pakulski, IFBB Pro Fouad Abiad, and IFBB Pro Frank McGrath -- competed in Toronto, perhaps missing out on some home-court advantage and support like that Texan IFBB Pro Branch Warren enjoyed at his Dallas Pro Championships victory two weeks ago.
