The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Jose Raymond was declared the 1st place winner of the 212 Class at the 2013 New York Pro Bodybuilding Championships. Like he did in 2012, IFBB Pro Sami Alhaddad took 2nd place. IFBB Pro Mark Dugdale nabbed 3rd place. In his pro debut, IFBB Pro Aaron Clark finished in the 4th place position, and IFBB Pro Marco Rivera landed in 5th place.

The "So What?":
As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro Muscle Report," the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System applies to IFBB Pro League athletes' eligibility to compete at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend 212 Showdown (September 26-29) in Las Vegas to face reigning Olympia 212 Showdown Champion IFBB Pro Flex Lewis. The New York Pro is a Tier 3 contest, i.e., one of few to award more points per placing than Tier 4 contests: (1st automatic qualification, 2nd - 5 Points, 3rd - 4 Points, 4th - 3 Points, 5th - 2 Points). IFBB Pro Kevin English won the 2012 New York Pro Bodybuilding Championships 212 Division.

Andrew Oye's Verdict:
Jose Raymond has an up-and-down history at the IFBB New York Pro Bodybuilding Championships. Raymond won in 2011, dropped to 3rd place in 2012, and won in 2013. Now, not only does Raymond have to face James Flex Lewis (5th place in the Open Class at the 2012 IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Europe) but he also has to contend with former Open Class competitor IFBB Pro Troy Alves, who just dropped in weight classes and won the 212 Class at the 2013 !FBB Orlando Pro Bodybuilding Championships.
