The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Jose Raymond was named the 1st place winner in the 212 Division at the Europa Games 2014 IFBB Phoenix Pro Bodybuilding Championships in Arizona. Consistent with his placing last year, IFBB Pro Mark Dugdale was the 2nd place runner-up. IFBB Pro Ahmad Ahmad acquired the 3rd place spot. The 4th place slot went to IFBB Pro Tricky Jackson. IFBB Pro Marvin Ward finished in 5th place.

Some of the remaining field included: IFBB Pro John Sherman (6th), IFBB Pro Jamal Elmadawy (7th), IFBB Pro Leonardo Pacheco (9th), IFBB Pro Wendell Floyd (10th), IFBB Pro Pete Ciccone (11th), IFBB Pro Bola Ojex (12th), IFBB Pro Jose Bustamante (13th), IFBB Pro Breon Ansley (15th), followed by 16th place finishers IFBB Pro Lyndon Belgrave, IFBB Pro Shavis Higa, IFBB Pro Lorenzo Jones, IFBB Pro Hennie Kotze, IFBB Pro Daron Lytle, and IFBB Pro Luis Santa.

The "So What?": As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System: (1st automatic qualification, 2nd - 4 Points, 3rd - 3 Points, 4th - 2 Points, 5th - 1 Point) applies to IFBB Pro League athletes' eligibility to compete at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend to face reigning 212 Olympia Showdown Champion IFBB Pro Flex Lewis. Winner of the 2013 Phoenix Pro Bodybuilding Championships, IFBB Pro David Henry did not return to defend the title. The Europa Games Expo also featured IFBB Pro Fitness, Figure and Physique contests, United States Powerlifting Association (USPA) Championships, Megatron Wrestling Duels, America's Strongest Man Championships (emceed by strongman Derek Poundstone), MMA, martial arts, tae kwon do, karate, judo, grappling, arm wrestling, an obstacle course and more.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: In February, Jose Raymond finished in 5th place at the first-ever 212 Division contest (won by James "Flex" Lewis) at the Arnold Sports Festival's 2014 IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships (won by IFBB Pro Dennis Wolf). A month ago, he finished in 3rd place at the 212 Olympia Showdown (won by Lewis) during the celebration of the 50th Anniversary Mr. Olympia Championships (won by IFBB Pro Phil Heath).

In Arizona, Raymond claimed his seventh victory in his professional bodybuilding career. He often takes the number-one seat whenever Lewis is not in a lineup, which seems to automatically relegate Raymond to a 2nd through 4th runner-up position. Thus far, Raymond has only defeated Lewis once -- at the 2011 New Pro Bodybuilding Championships. Nevertheless, the victory in Phoenix is a strong way for Raymond (a.k.a. "The Boston Mass") to close the season, by winning the last 212 Division contest on the IFBB Pro League schedule for the 2014 calendar year.
