The Headline: ANDREW OYE'S IFBB PRO CONTEST REPORT: IFBB PRO FOUAD ABIAD WINS SHOW OF CHAMPIONS AT ORLANDO PRO BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIPS, EARNS FIRST IFBB PRO LEAGUE CAREER VICTORY

The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Fouad Abiad won 1st place at the 2015 IFBB Pro Europa Show of Champions at the Europa Games 'Get Fit and Sports Expo' in Orlando, Florida, earning his first victory in his professional bodybuilding career. In his pro debut, IFBB Pro Michael Lockett was named the 2nd place runner-up. IFBB Pro Alexander Fedorov took 3rd place. IFBB Pro P. Zayas landed in 4th place. Slipping a spot from last year, IFBB Pro Daniel Toth finished in 5th place.

Some of the remaining field of physiques at the Orlando Pro Bodybuilding Championships: IFBB Alfonso Del Rio (6th), in his pro debut after winning the 2014 Amateur Olympia Latin America -- Canadian IFBB Pro Iain Valliere (7th), IFBB Pro Ryan Pateracki (8th), IFBB Pro Vitaly Fateev (9th), dropping two spots from last year IFBB Pro Marius Dohne (10th), IFBB Pro Feras Saied (11th), dropping two spots from last year IFBB Pro Lloyd Dollar (13th), IFBB Pro Derek Upshaw (14th), and IFBB Pro Nikitas Manolakas (15th).

The "So What?": As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro Muscle Report," the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System: (1st automatic qualification, 2nd - 4 Points, 3rd - 3 Points, 4th - 2 Points, 5th - 1 Point) applies to IFBB Pro League athletes' eligibility to compete at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, to face reigning 4-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath. Fouad Abiad earned his IFBB Pro card by winning the 2006 CBBF Canadian National Bodybuilding Championships, which means he has been trying for nearly a decade to win a pro contest. His resume of 16 competitions includes a few close calls: 2nd at the 2009 Tampa Pro, 2nd at the 2013 Toronto Pro, and 2nd at the 2014 2008 Dallas Europa Supershow (Dallas). Abiad has had less luck at bigger shows: 12th at the 2011 Arnold Classic (won by IFBB Pro Branch Warren), 11th at the 2012 Arnold Classic (won by Branch "Quadrasaurus" Warren), and 10th at the 2013 Arnold Classic, won by IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson -- who also won the 2008 Olympia, the only Mr. Olympia contest in which Abiad has competed (yet he did not place).

Andrew Oye's Verdict: Last year's Orlando Show of Champions winner, 26-year-old IFBB Pro Justin Compton did not return to defend the title (as I reported, he decided to take the remainder of the year off after strong debuts at the 2015 Arnold Classic USA and 2015 Arnold Classic Australia). This gives 36-year-old Fouad Abiad multiple opportunities to improve his ranking at the biggest competitions in the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness. The win in Florida earned the Canadian an automatic qualification for this year's "Super Bowl of bodybuilding"), as well as an automatic invitation to compete at next year's IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships at the Arnold Sports Festival.
