The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Evan Centopani emerged as the winner of the inaugural 2011 IFBB FLEX Pro Bodybuilding Championships in California. At the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. 2008 Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson, who was awarded with 2nd place. Finishing in 3rd place was a chiseled IFBB Pro Fouad Abiad. Rounding out the Top 5 competitors were IFBB Pro Dennis Wolf in 4th place and big-wheeled IFBB Pro Ben Pakulski landing in 5th place.

The remaining field: Powerlifter, IFBB Pro Ben White (6th), IFBB Pro Grigori Atoyan (7th), IFBB Pro Vladimir Sizov (8th), Powerlifter, IFBB Pro Stan Efferding (9th), IFBB Pro Omar Deckard (10th), IFBB Pro Robert Belisle (12th), IFBB Pro Dan Hill (13th), IFBB Pro Milton Holloway (14th), IFBB Pro Jojo Ntiforo (15th), IFBB Pro Dainius Barzinskas, IFBB Pro Wendell Floyd, IFBB Pro Adorthus Cherry.

The "So What?": This event marks Evan Centopani's second professional bodybuilding contest and his second first-place victory. As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," Centopani had also won his pro-debut competition, the 2009 New York Po Bodybuilding Championships, so now he touts a two-for-two record. The Top 3 IFBB Pro League athletes at the FLEX Pro Show earned qualifications to face-off with 4-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Jay Cutler at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend (September 16).

Andrew Oye's Verdict: Congrats to Evan Centopani for setting the stage for a remarkable start to a pro career, since earning his IFBB Pro card at the 2007 NPC National Bodybuilding Championships. Though I don't think Dexter Jackson was "off" enough for less-seasoned competitors to surge ahead of an Olympia Sandow-trophy holder and 3-time Arnold Sports Festival IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Champion, with one of the best mid-sections and overall shapes in the biz, apparently the rookie pro had enough conditioning to cut the "The Blade" in the eyes of the contest judges.
