IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup
Just Announced: Over the weekend,
IFBB Pro Eduardo Correa clinched the 1st place spot in the 202 Division at the Europa Orlando Pro Show of Champions. The cut-up Brazilian was ripped and ready, and he was favored heading into the competition. The 2nd place spot was inhabited by IFBB Pro Roc Shabazz, the mighty compact bullet who won the 202 Class at the 2010 Phoenix Pro in February. The other name thrown around before the contest belonged to 3rd place finisher IFBB Pro Jose Raymond. The power-packed athlete was conditioned and dense but his structural detailing couldn't outdo the others above him.
The "So What?":
As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," the Top-3 placing IFBB
Pro League athletes qualify to compete at the 2010 Joe Weider's Olympia
Weekend in September to face reigning Olympia 202 Showdown Champion IFBB Pro Kevin English in Las Vegas. IFBB Pro Nathan Wonsley usually competes in the 202 Division, but he bumped up to the Open Division, which didn't quite serve him well in Florida. There has been talk that Eduardo Correa may eventually pack on some mass and follow suit to take on the big pros in the Open Division.
Andrew Oye's Verdict:
For now, Eduardo Correa is on track to be one of the physiques that lead the 202 Class. He'd be wise to challenge the likes of IFBB Pro David Henry and Kevin English, and see if he can rule that division for a while before tangling with Open Division contenders like IFBB Pro Jay Cutler, IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson, IFBB Pro Branch Warren, IFBB Pro Phil Heath, IFBB Pro Dennis Wolf and others ruling stages at the Olympia and the Arnold Sports Festival's IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships.
