The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup
The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Eduardo Correa claimed a 1st place victory at the 2009
IFBB Pittsburgh Pro Bodybuilding Championships. IFBB Pro Mark Dugdale was the 2nd place runner-up. IFBB Pro Jason Arntz took 3rd place. IFBB Pro Ahmad Ahmad finished in 4th place, and IFBB Pro George Farah ended the contest in 5th place among a field of twelve competitors.
The "So What?": This contest marked Eduardo Correa's
first win in the new Under 202 Division. In the last year, Correa has
packed on noticeable mass while maintaining a decent V-taper. He used
the added size to overtake pre-show
favored contender IFBB Pro Mark Dugdale. Marking his first tangle in the 202
Division, Dugdale only slightly bested Jason Arntz
who possessed a great lat flare but looked in need of deeper cuts all
over. As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," Correa won the Light-Heavyweight class at the 2008 Arnold Amateur Bodybuilding Championships at the Arnold Sports Festival (where Dexter Jackson won the IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic). In Pittsburgh, the Top 3 IFBB Pro League athletes secured slots to compete in the 202 Olympia Showdown at Joe Weider's
Olympia Weekend in Las Vegas and challenge
2008 Olympia 202 Showdown Champ IFBB Pro David Henry.
Andrew Oye's Verdict: While a lot of Olympia-caliber muscle was displayed onstage during
the halftime-intermission guest-posing performance (in the form of reigning Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson, 8-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman, 2-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Jay Cutler, IFBB Pro Branch Warren and many more), I'm sure Eduardo Correa and his fellow competitors were glad their
202 Division was created to separate them from the "giant guests" at their game.
