The Headline: ANDREW OYE'S IFBB PRO CONTEST REPORT: IFBB PRO BRANDON CURRY WINS TORONTO PRO BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIPS SUPERSHOW, EARNS SECOND IFBB PRO LEAGUE CAREER VICTORY

The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Brandon Curry won the 2015 IFBB Toronto Pro Bodybuilding Championships, collecting a 1st place victory in the Open-Division contest in Canada. Repeating his placing from last year, powerlifter/IFBB Pro Johnnie Jackson took 2nd place. IFBB Pro Fred Smalls mustered a 3rd place finish. IFBB Pro Ibrahim Fahim was the 4th place finisher. Canadian IFBB Pro Iain Valliere landed in 5th place.

The remaining field of physiques: Canadian IFBB Pro Renaldo Gairy (6th), jumping three spots from last year -- IFBB Pro Marshel Herman (7th), up four rungs from 2014 -- Canadian IFBB Pro Santana Anderson (8th), IFBB Pro Stephen Frazier (9th), slipping four spots from last year -- Canadian IFBB Pro Henri-Pierre Ano (10th), IFBB Pro Grigori Atoyan (11th), Canadian IFBB Pro Frantz Prevaly (12th), Canadian IFBB Pro Leon Eastman (13th), and IFBB Pro Varinder Singh Ghuman (14th).

The "So What?": As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro Muscle Report," the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System (1st automatic qualification, 2nd - 4 Points, 3rd - 3 Points, 4th - 2 Points, 5th - 1 Point) applies to IFBB Pro League athletes' eligibility to compete at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend (September 17-20) in Las Vegas, Nevada, to challenge reigning 4-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath. This marks the second professional bodybuilding victory for 2008 Mr. USA Brandon Curry. IFBB Pro Juan Morel was the winner of the 2014 Toronto Pro SuperShow. This year's contestant pool contained two International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness Amateur Olympia winners, who finished in the Top 5: Ibrahim Fahim (who earned an IFBB Pro card at the 2013 Amateur Olympia in Bahrain) and Iain Valliere (who earned an IFBB Pro card at the 2014 Amateur Olympia Latin America).

Andrew Oye's Verdict: The victory in Toronto might have helped to lift the spirits of Brandon Curry. In 2013, Curry won the Arnold Sports Festival's inaugural IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships in Brasil. However, at the recent 2015 Arnold Classic Brasil, Curry landed in 5th place in Rio de Janeiro, behind winner IFBB Pro Mamdouh Elssbiay (a.k.a. "Big Ramy") -- the 2012 Amateur Olympia winner, who had returned the following to present his successor (Fahim, a fellow Egyptian) with the crown. A trip to the "Super Bowl of bodybuilding" is coveted by many IFBB Pro League athletes -- regardless of whether the ticket arrives via a win at one of 7-time Mr. Olympia and "Governator"/"Terminator" Arnold Schwarzenegger's franchise competitions or via a win at any of the IFBB Professional League's other circuit contests.
