The Headline: ANDREW OYE'S IFBB PRO CONTEST REPORT: IFBB PRO BRANCH WARREN WINS ATLANTIC CITY PRO BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIPS IN NEW JERSEY, 'QUADRASAURUS' EARNS NINTH IFBB PRO LEAGUE CAREER VICTORY AT FINAL QUALIFIER FOR JOE WEIDER'S MR. OLYMPIA CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup, NFL Pro Athletes Roundup, WWE Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Branch Warren won 1st place in the Open Division at the 2015 IFBB Europa Atlantic City Pro Bodybuilding Championships in New Jersey. Winner of the recent Golden State Pro Championships in California, IFBB Pro Cedric McMillan was declared the 2nd place runner-up. IFBB Pro Drew Jemmott took 3rd place. Powerlifter/IFBB Pro Robert Piotrkowicz landed in 4th place, followed by IFBB Pro S. Havlik in 5th place.

The remaining field of physiques: 2014 NPC USA Championships Super-Heavyweight Class and Overall Winner and rookie IFBB Pro Nick Trigili (6th), IFBB Pro Kenneth Jackson (7th), IFBB Pro Henri Pierre Ano (8th), 2013 NPC Masters National Championships 40+ Heavyweight Winner and rookie IFBB Pro Daniel Hawtin (9th), IFBB Pro Saiid Tejan Kamara (10th), IFBB Pro Jaime Atienza (11th), 2015 NPC Team Universe Masters Championships 40+ Lightweight Winner and rookie IFBB Pro Tom Jimenez (12th), and former National Football League NFL Pro Football Player IFBB Pro Malcolm Marshall (13th).

The "So What?": As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro Muscle Report," the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System (1st automatic qualification, 2nd - 4 Points, 3rd - 3 Points, 4th - 2 Points, 5th - 1 Point) applies to IFBB Pro League athletes' eligibility to compete at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend (September 17-20) in Las Vegas, Nevada, to take on reigning Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath.  Following a six-year hiatus, this year's contest marked the return of IFBB professional bodybuilding to Atlantic City -- this time under the umbrella of the Europa Games Expo (where actor and World Wrestling Entertainment WWE Superstar Pro Wrestler "The Rock" Dwayne Johnson was spotted). Europa Sports also hosts contests in Orlando, Florida, in Dallas, Texas and in Phoenix, Arizona, and expos include wrestling, powerlifting, strongman, martial arts, MMA, and CrossFit. Three recent IFBB Pro card-earners made pro debuts (Hawtin, Jimenez, Trigili). At this final Olympia qualifier for the 2015 season, Branch Warren (a.k.a. "Quadrasaurus") earned the ninth victory of his professional bodybuilding career in the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness. The 2009 Atlantic City Pro Championships was won by IFBB Pro Gustavo Badell.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: Since earning his IFBB Pro card by winning the Heavyweight, Class at the 2001 NPC National Bodybuilding Championships, Branch Warren racked up victories at the Charlotte Pro and Europa Dallas Supershow in 2005, New York Pro in 2007, British Grand Prix in 2011, Australian Grand Prix in 2012 and Europa Dallas in 2014. At the age of 40, the big-wheeled Texan will have to settle for being proud that he can still somehow win circuit contests over younger competitors like U.S. Army Sergeant Cedric McMillan (whom some might possesses the opposite, i.e. more "classic," physique).

Warren collected wins at the 2011 and 2012 editions of the Arnold Sports Festival's IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championship (an event where he has nabbed even more "Most Muscular" Awards over the years), but his closest chance for an Olympia Sandow trophy was his 2nd place finish to IFBB Pro Jay Cutler at the 2009 Olympia. While the bulldog won't fade quietly into retirement without a fight, the growing crop of mid-career and new pros (such as IFBB Pro Justin Compton and IFBB Pro Mamdouh Elssbiay, a.k.a. "Big Ramy") may soon put Warren's days of being a dominant threat at major shows like the Arnold Classic and Weider's "Super Bowl of bodybuilding" even farther behind him. In his eighth trip to the Olympia, he'll face Phil Heath, Cedric McMillan, Big Ramy, IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson, IFBB Pro Shawn Rhoden, IFBB Pro Dennis Wolf, IFBB Pro Roelly Winklaar, IFBB Pro Steve Kuclo, and "The Rock" IFBB Pro Ronny Rockel.
