The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Al Auguste showed he is a champion, winning 1st place at the 2012 IFBB Pro Europa Show of Champions in Orlando, Florida. In his pro debut, IFBB Pro Marco Rivera took 2nd place. Achieving his highest placing in a pro contest so far, IFBB Pro Raul Carrasco Jimenez placed 3rd in the show. IFBB Pro Nathaniel Wonsley took 4th place, trailed by IFBB Pro Nana Kwasi Ofosu-Manu in 5th place, IFBB Pro Daron Lytle in 6th place, and IFBB Pro James Darling in 7th place.

The "So What?": As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System: (1st automatic qualification, 2nd - 4 Points, 3rd - 3 Points, 4th - 2 Points, 5th - 1 Point) applies to IFBB Pro League athletes' eligibility to compete at Joe Weider's Olympia 212 Showdown (September 29) in Las Vegas. The 2012 Europa Orlando Pro Bodybuilding Championships hosted only a 212 Class contest for the first time; whereas, the 2011 Orlando Championships only hosted an Open Class contest (won by IFBB Pro Cedric McMillan). The 2010 Orlando contest hosted both a 202 Class (won by IFBB Pro Eduardo Correa, who placed 10th at the Arnold Sports Festival's 2012 IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships, won by IFBB Pro Branch Warren) and an Open Class (won by IFBB Pro Hidetada Yamagishi).

Andrew Oye's Verdict: With this event marking Al Auguste's second victory for the 2012 contest season, it seems he is gunning for the (unofficial) "King of the 212" title. Granted, IFBB Pro Kevin English won the 2011 Olympia 202 Showdown (where Auguste placed 9th), but English only competed once last year and has been absent from the 2012 IFBB contest circuit, thus far. On the other hand, former NFL Pro football running back (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) Nate Wonsley seems stuck on the fourth rung of the ladder. With 23 pro contests under his belt, Wonsley's highest placing has been 4th place at four of those competitions.
