The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup
The Scoop: Just Announced: Over
the weekend, USA's IFBB Pro K. Greene was selected as the winner of the
2010 IFBB Australian Grand Prix Pro Bodybuilding Championships, using
mass and musculature to lead the field. With a ripped mid-section and
great symmetry, USA's IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson placed 2nd in the contest.
The Netherlands' IFBB Pro Roelly Winklaar took 3rd place with good
shape and conditioning. Aussie-residing Greek IFBB Pro Michael
Kefalianos was given the 4th place spot.
The "So What?": Seemingly, the Top 3 finishers simply carried the sharp physiques they
presented at the Arnold Sports Festival a week prior
across continents to stomp a lineup that did not pose a tremendous
threat. As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," the winning IFBB Pro League athletes qualify to compete at Joe
Weider's Olympia Weekend and face reigning 3-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro
Jay Cutler in Las Vegas. Fans also got to meet the first-ever
winner of the 1989 IFBB Pro Arnold
Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships, as retired IFBB Pro
Rich Gaspari (also a 3-time Mr. Olympia runner-up during the reign of
8-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Lee Haney) made a special appearance in
Melbourne.
Andrew Oye's Verdict: "Repeat"
ought to be Greene's new nickname. This victory gives him
back-to-back wins in Australia, having also won the 2009 Australian
Grand Prix. This comes on the heels of his back-to-back wins in
Columbus, OH, at the Arnold Classic in 2010 and 2009. USA's IFBB Pro
Melvin Anthony finished in 5th place but won the "Best Poser" Award -- a
consolation for Anthony who is finding it harder to beat his main
posing nemesis (Greene) in the physique round of competitions.
