The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Competitors List, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Just Announced: Promoters of the Valenti Gold Cup just announced the list of IFBB Pro League athletes that will compete at the 2012 IFBB Sarasota Pro Bodybuilding Championships in Florida (September 8).

212 Class Competitors:
IFBB Pro Raul Carrasco Jimenez
IFBB Pro Eduardo Correa Da Silva
IFBB Pro James Darling
IFBB Pro Parenthesis Devers
IFBB Pro Charles Dixon
IFBB Pro Seth Feroce
IFBB Pro Benjamin Parra Nunoz
IFBB Pro Willie Vegas
IFBB Pro Nate Wonsley

The "So What?": As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," the Sarasota Pro Championships is the last 212-Class contest before Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend (September 29), which means it is the final opportunity for 212 Division IFBB Pro League athletes to gain IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series points in preparation for the Olympia 212 Showdown in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Simultaneously, while the 212 bodybuilders face-off in Florida, Open-Division competitors like IFBB Pro Ronny Rockel, IFBB Pro Roelly Winklaar, and IFBB Pro Robert Piotrkowicz will compete at the Nordic Pro Bodybuilding Championships in Lahti, Finland, this weekend.)

Andrew Oye's Verdict: Pre-contest frontrunners include Eduardo Correa, who had been missing from the pro bodybuilding competitive stage in 2011 due to injury and returned to take 10th place against Open-Division athletes at the Arnold Sports Festival's 2012 IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Pro Bodybuilding Championships (won by IFBB Pro Branch Warren), and Seth Feroce. Ironically, both had been named among the former 202 Division competitors that would possibly make a permanent leap to the Open Division when the 202 weigh-limit increase created the new 212 Division. Not on the official list at last check but said to be a possible late entry, IFBB Pro Branden Ray could also be a factor.
