The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Competitors List, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Just Announced: Retired IFBB Pro Quincy Roberts, promoter of the North Carolina Pro, just announced the list of IFBB Pro League athletes that will compete at the 2011 IFBB North Carolina Pro Bodybuilding Championships (August 20).

202 Class Competitors:
IFBB Pro Charles Dixon
IFBB Pro V. Ettienne
IFBB Pro Abiu Feliz
IFBB Pro Daron Lytle
IFBB Pro Sergio Pestana Ramos
IFBB Pro Erwin Marquez
IFBB Pro Patrick Richardson
IFBB Pro Michael Valentino
IFBB Pro Willie Vegas
IFBB Pro Marvin Ward

The "So What?": Perhaps the North Carolina Pro Championships' promotional poster led to some speculation that IFBB Pro Jose Raymond, who is prepping for the Olympia 202 Showdown at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend in September, might jump into the mix. However, Raymond clarified, saying, "I will not be competing [in North Carolina], but I will be there to help out and to guest pose. Quincy is a great guy, and I gave him my word that I would be there. It should be a great time."

Andrew Oye's Verdict: The pre-show frontrunner is Ettienne, winner of the recent Jacksonville Pro Bodybuilding Championships, which was staged along with the NPC Dexter Jackson Classic promoted by 3-time winner of the Arnold Sports Festival's IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships and 2008 Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson two weeks ago.

The 202 Division athletes get another day in the spotlight thanks to another veteran who went from competitor to contest promoter. Quincy Roberts earned his IFBB Pro card by winning the Middleweight Class at the 1988 NPC National Bodybuilding Championships. Roberts went on to compete in 15 pro contests, including three Masters Olympia events from 1996-1999 (all won by IFBB Pro Vince Taylor), and he retired after the 2006 Masters Pro World Championships (won by IFBB Pro Bob Cicherillo).
