Contest Results, New IFBB Pro League Cards, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup
Just Announced: Over the weekend, across the North American continent, new IFBB Pro cards were awarded to athletes. At the 2013 CBBF Canadian National Bodybuilding Championships in Halifax, Nova Scotia, pro cards went to new IFBB Pro Henri-Pierre Ano (Super- Heavyweight and Overall Open Class Winner), new IFBB Pro Zane Watson (Heavyweight winner) and new IFBB Pro Christopher Wong (Masters Overall). Meanwhile, at the 2013 Team Universe Bodybuilding Championships in Teaneck, New Jersey, pro status was earned by new IFBB Pro Saiid Kamara (Heavyweight and Overall Open Class Winner) and new IFBB Pro Malcolm Marshall (Masters 40+ Class winner).
The "So What?":
At Team Universe, over 60 IFBB Pro cards were available to the over 700 competitors across the various divisions: Men's and Women's Bodybuilding, Women's and Men's Physique, Fitness, Figure, and Bikini- up from the 2012 count reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report." This year's Team U. winners offer added interesting facts. Saiid Kamara is now the first pro bodybuilder from Sierra Leone. With his Business and Health Administration Master's degrees, Malcolm Marshall is former NFL Pro football player, who was signed to the 1995 Philadelphia Eagles and the 1997 New York Jets.
Andrew Oye's Verdict:
With recent news about the addition of more IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series divisions to the IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic and the IFBB Asian Pro Bodybuilding Championships in China, it is always cool to witness athletes that crossover to the growing sport of competitive bodybuilding from other pro sports- Donald Rolle, a competitor in the Physique Division played in the NFL Super Bowl and holds the record for 14 consecutive touchdown catches.
