The Item: Contest Results, New IFBB Pro League Cards, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend in Las Vegas, Jason Huh won both the Super-Heavyweight Class and the Overall title of Mr. USA at the 2010 NPC USA Bodybuilding Championships. A 5'8"', 250-pound, 25-year-old Florida resident, Huh is a densely muscled athlete who calls to mind a mash-up of IFBB Pro Hidetada Yamagishi and IFBB Pro Roelly Winklaar. Huh earned pro status along with Heavyweight Class winner Vladimir Sizov, Light-Heavyweight Class winner Al Auguste, and Middleweight Class winner Justin Joseph.

The "So What?": As previously reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," the National Physique Committee increased the number of IFBB Pro cards issued in the Men's Bodybuilding Division from three pro cards in 2009 to four pro cards at this year's event, ushering more athletes into the professional bodybuilding ranks of the International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness. Previous NPC USA Bodybuilding Champions: IFBB Pro Mark Alvisi in 2009, IFBB Pro Brandon Curry in 2008, powerlifter IFBB Pro Ben White in 2007, IFBB Pro Omar Deckard in 2006, IFBB Pro Phil Heath in 2005 and IFBB Pro Mark Dugdale in 2004.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: New IFBB Pro Jason Huh had placed 5th in the Super-Heavyweight Class at the 2009 NPC USA contest behind 1st place finisher IFBB Pro Grigori Atoyan. Folks are already buzzing about the future of this kid. The thick, tree-trunk legs on Huh are major weapons. He'll need all the weaponry he can pack in his arsenal to take on IFBB Pro League athletes who compete on the sport's most prestigious stages like the Arnold Sports Festival's IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships, or Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend Mr. Olympia Championships -- where MUSCLE INK Magazine cover athlete IFBB Pro Jay Cutler competes for his fourth Mr. Olympia title and Sandow trophy in September, still reaching for the records of 6-time winner IFBB Pro Dorian Yates, 7-time winner Arnold Schwarzenegger, and 8-time winners IFBB Pro Lee Haney and IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman.
