The Scoop: Recently Reported: IFBB Pro League athletes and athletes from other sports leagues had career updates or made recent guest appearances at various entertainment, sports, bodybuilding, physique and fitness events. The latest "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report" Pro Athletes Roundup includes tons of International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness professionals -- an Olympia-bound competitor planning his prep time, an Olympia champion enforcing "game time," and a bunch of pros with Olympia fans having a good time.

The "So What?": Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Dallas McCarver won his pro debut at the IFBB California Bodybuilding Championships, which was his first IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series contest and qualifies him for a slot at the "Super Bowl of bodybuilding." Other athletes are mapping their plans for Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend. After his recent victory at the IFBB New York Pro Championships, IFBB Pro Guy Cisternino announced: "I planned on doing many shows after that win, but after talking with [my prep coach] and some others, I want to give the Olympia my all this year." Taking a different approach to his fifth consecutive showing the Olympia 212 Showdown, he concluded, "For the first time, I can relax and rebound after the NY Pro win and be fully rested and recovered to come into 'The O' with guns blazing. Every year, I did show after show and by the time the Olympia came around, it was my 3rd or 4th show. Now I can [take] the time I need to improve and be my all-time best. And I can't wait to see what's in store come September 19th."

IFBB Pro Evan Centopani was the featured guest-poser at the NPC Milwaukee Muscle Madness Championships in Wisconsin. IFBB Pro Dusty Hanshaw guest-posed at NPC Cascadian Classic Championships in Bend, Oregon. IFBB Pro Charles Dixon took the stage at NPC Red Sticks Classic Bodybuilding Championships in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after hosting a training seminar the night before. The guest-posers at the NPC Florida Grand Prix in Lake Worth, Florida were IFBB Pro Akim Williams and IFBB Pro Alejandro Cambronero, who will compete in the 212 Division at the inaugural IFBB Puerto Rico Pro Championships this weekend.

IFBB Pro Dennis James hosted the IFBB/NPC Dennis James Classic Championships in Mesa, Arizona, where IFBB Pro Fred Smalls guest-posed. IFBB Pro Rod Ketchens hosted the NPC Rock Solid Championships in Sioux City, Iowa. IFBB Pro Timmy Gaillard guest-posed at the NPC Vulcan Classic in Birmingham, Alabama. Tricky Jackson guest-posed at an NPC National Physique Committee contest in Bonita Springs, Florida, which was hosted by Steve Hess, Strength Coach for the NBA Denver Nuggets Pro Basketball Team.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: Much of the weekend's action (and human mass) was heavily concentrated in the northeast. A stack of pros made appearances at a fan-packed "Monster Event" meet-and-greet and block party in Brooklyn, New York: IFBB Pro Rich Gaspari, IFBB Pro Victor Martinez, IFBB Pro Hidetada Yamagishi, IFBB Pro Johnnie Jackson, IFBB Pro Nick Trigili, IFBB Pro Akim Williams, IFBB Pro Shaun Clarida, IFBB Pro Steve Kuclo, IFBB Pro Marco Rivera, IFBB Pro Jeff Beckham, IFBB Pro Beau Baisden, IFBB Pro Kevin Jordan, IFBB Pro Erik Ramirez, IFBB Pro Jose Raymond, and 8-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman.

As I previously reported in career-expansion news, Coleman, a former police officer, just released his video game called "Ronnie Cop" (available for play on smartphones and mobile devices). The legendary bodybuilder matter-of-factly said he launched the new game because he saw the fun and success other celebrities had releasing digital game apps. This latest ventures adds to Coleman's impressive resume, which includes: champion with 26 IFBB Pro contest victories; winner of a record number of Sandow trophies; winner of the Arnold Sports Festival's 2001 IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships; philanthropist for hunger-fighting charities; and entrepreneur with a sports nutrition business.
