The Item: Career Updates, Special Appearances, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop:
Recently Reported: IFBB Pro League athletes had career updates or made recent guest appearances at various bodybuilding, physique and fitness events. The "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report" latest roundup includes a proper legend and an east-coast pack.

The "So What?":
Over the weekend, legendary IFBB Hall of Famer and 8-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Lee Haney celebrated his 54th birthday. Three-time IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic winner and 4-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Jay Cutler was the featured guest-poser at his own event, the NPC Jay Cutler Baltimore Classic Bodybuilding and Physique Championships, which included an Armed Forces Division - on the eve of Veteran's Day. A quartet of east-coast pros guest-posed at the NPC East Coast Bodybuilding Championships in Elmwood Park, NJ, including IFBB Pro Jon Delarosa, IFBB Pro Marco Rivera, IFBB Pro Anthoneil Champagnie and IFBB Pro Jeff Beckham.

Retired IFBB Pro Bob Cicherillo emceed the IFBB Iron Games in Culver City, CA. Titan from the "American Gladiators" TV Show and 4-time Mr. Universe Mike O'Hearn emceed the NPC Idaho Cup Bodybuilding Championships, where rookie IFBB Pro Joe DeRousie guest-posed and rapper Tone Loc appeared at the after-party. Word is IFBB Pro Seth Feroce, who was spotted at the Olympia Weekend Expo, may have decided to refrain from competition at the present time. Though still relatively young, Feroce (who last competed at the 2012 Valenti Gold Cup IFBB Sarasota Pro Bodybuilding Championships, 7th place) will focus on his growing family and volunteer work with local youth.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: As the 32nd Annual NPC National Bodybuilding Championships approaches on November 23rd in Florida (offering winning athletes the chance to enter IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series competitions), it's worth noting that Lee Haney, the first-ever winner of the competition in 1982 (when it was called the American Championships and held in New York), earned his IFBB Pro card and went on to become a highly regarded ambassador of the sport of bodybuilding. It will be interesting to see if the next winner eventually does the same.
