The Item: Career Updates, Special Appearances, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Recently Announced: IFBB Pro League athletes had career updates or made recent guest appearances at various sports, bodybuilding, physique and fitness events. The latest "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report" Pro Athletes Roundup includes a multiple-titleholder, a Texan, and a former teacher pumping iron for the fitness public.

The "So What?": Once again, bodybuilding fans will get the chance to peek at the gym methods of IFBB Pro League athletes at the Europa Super Show in Dallas, Texas, this weekend (August 14). The "Watch the Pros Train" event occurs in a gym setup at the expo portion of the fitness weekend, where attendees can catch glimpses of pro bodybuilders, figure and fitness athletes going through live intense training sessions.

Scheduled to appear at the Dallas Convention Center are 5-time Ms. Olympia IFBB Pro Iris Kyle, along with two athletes from last month's "Watch the Pros Train" event in Connecticut -- Texas-local IFBB Pro Branch Warren (2009 Mr. Olympia 2nd place runner-up at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend, won by MUSCLE INK Magazine cover athlete IFBB Pro Jay Cutler) and IFBB Pro Andy Haman (2007 NPC Masters National Bodybuilding Championships Super-Heavyweight and Overall winner), among other pros. The Europa promoters have made "Watch the Pro Train" a fixture at all of their IFBB Pro events throughout the year, including the Battle of Champions Show in Hartford, Connecticut, and the Show of Champions in Orlando, Florida.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: An icon of hardcore training, Mr. "Quadrasaurus" (akin to IFBB Pro Paul DeMayo's nickname "Quadzilla" and IFBB Pro Tom Platz's nickname "Quadfather" for well-built legs) Branch Warren is always a big draw at such events. (Warren finished 3rd at the Arnold Sports Festival's 2010 IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships, behind 2nd place runner-up IFBB Pro Phil Heath). Perpetually in personality overdrive, Andy Haman, a powerlifter, former physical education teacher, football coach and collegiate wrestler, also plays well to a crowd at a live training demo. Pro bodybuilders doling out training tips complements the main event contests, which represent a practical application of the exercise methodologies. In Connecticut, it was the Hartford Pro Bodybuilding Championships, where IFBB Pro Ed Nunn won the Open Class and IFBB Pro Jose Raymond won the 202 Class. At the Dallas Pro Bodybuilding Championships, Open Division contenders include IFBB Pro Cedric McMillan, IFBB Pro Brandon Curry, IFBB Pro Grigori Atoyan, IFBB Pro Michael Kefalianos and IFBB Pro Essa Obaid. The 202 Division contestants include IFBB Pro Jaroslav Horvath, IFBB Pro Guy Cisternino, IFBB Pro Tricky Jackson and IFBB Pro Seth Feroce.
