The Headline: ANDREW OYE'S IFBB PRO ATHLETES ROUNDUP: IFBB PRO JUSTIN COMPTON SKIPS OLYMPIA AFTER STRONG DEBUT AT ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER CLASSIC BODYBUILDING CHAMPIONSHIPS, IFBB PRO TONEY FREEMAN, IFBB PRO GUY CISTERNINO, IFBB PRO TRICKY JACKSON, IFBB PRO MARCO RIVERA, IFBB PRO FLEX WHEELER, MR. OLYMPIA JAY CUTLER

The Item: Career Updates, Special Appearances, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Recently Reported: IFBB Pro League athletes had career updates or made recent guest appearances at various sports, bodybuilding, physique and fitness events. The latest "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report" Pro Athletes Roundup includes some veteran competitors in the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness and a rookie competitor strategically planning his climb up the professional bodybuilding ladder.

The "So What?": Over the weekend, veteran IFBB Pro Toney Freeman was the featured guest-poser at NPC Northern Colorado Bodybuilding Championships in Denver. IFBB Pro Guy Cisternino, IFBB Pro Juan Morel, and IFBB Pro Marco Rivera composed the lineup of headlining guest-posers at John Kemper's NPC New Jersey State Bodybuilding Championships in Elmwood Park. Another long-time master of the stage, IFBB Pro Tricky Jackson was a guest at the NPC Midwest Open and Iowa State Championships in Davenport, Iowa.

Several athletes (such as Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath, IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman, IFBB Pro Dorian Yates, IFBB Pro Branch Warren, IFBB Pro Shawn Rhoden, IFBB Pro Dennis Wolf, IFBB Pro Cedric McMillan, IFBB Pro Francis Benfatto, IFBB Pro Ben Pakulski, and IFBB Pro Ronny Rockel) were in Cologne, Germany, at the FIBO Power Expo. From Germany, IFBB Pro Flex Wheeler and IFBB Pro Jay Cutler sent well wishes via video messages to the competitors at the NPC Fox Cities Showdown Championships in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. "I know you guys trained really hard and dieted really hard," said Cutler. "I'm wishing you guys good luck. And enjoy the moment." IFBB Pro Justin Compton was the guest-poser in Wisconsin, where IFBB Pro Ashley Kaltwasser and IFBB Pro Amanda Latona Kuclo (wife of IFBB Pro Steve Kuclo) were also in attendance.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: Justin Compton has been attempting to live up to some of the hype that followed him onto the pro bodybuilding scene since earning his IFBB Pro card at the 2013 NPC Nationals. So far, he has done well chipping away at the mountain that faces any rookie. He automatically qualified for Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend last year with a win at the Orlando Pro, although he opted not compete. Despite the pressure of those who may want to push him faster up the hill, Compton announced his decision to not pursue any more IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series contests to secure a spot at this year's "Super Bowl of bodybuilding" via the points system. After impressive, back-to-back 3rd place finishes in his debuts at the IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships and the Arnold Sports Festival's inaugural Arnold Classic Australia (both won by IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson), Compton recapped his experiences and shared his plans for the remainder of the 2015 season.

"It was a great opportunity, a great experience…I couldn't be in a better situation right now. I was happy to stand with some of the best [bodybuilders] in the world. I will definitely be hitting both of these shows again the following year. I'm not going to be doing the Olympia this year. People were expecting me to do it. But my reasoning and my logic behind this is: If I can take a full year off-season, I can make the minor tweaks and changes that I need to make sure I have the complete and perfect physique for next year. I've gotten my feedback from the judges on what I need to work on physique-wise…[and} in terms of my presentation…I've made the commitment to myself…I'm going to make sure I have every angle covered." He went on to emphasize the need to actually enjoy the off-season, including food indulgences and quality time with friends and family. "I'm going to enjoy my life…and I'm going to do it in moderation." He says will be documenting and sharing the details of his post-season training and nutrition.
