The Item: Career Updates, Special Appearances, IFBB Pro League Contest Results, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: IFBB Pro League athletes had career updates or made recent guest appearances at various sports, bodybuilding, physique and fitness events. The latest "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report" Pro Athletes Roundup includes a bunch of pros guest-posing across the US and pros guest-appearing "across the pond" in the UK.
The "So What?": Over the weekend, former collegiate wrestler, IFBB Pro Andy Haman, who I hear may be working on a new TV project with his family, was the featured guest-poser at the NPC Southern Colorado (and Armed Forces) Bodybuilding Championships in Colorado Springs. IFBB Pro David Henry guest-posed at the NPC Grand Prix Natural Bodybuilding Championships in Rockford, Illinois. IFBB Pro Hidetada Yamagishi took the stage at the NPC Midway USA Championships, in Wichita, Kansas.

In the United Kingdom's inaugural IFBB BodyPower Pro Bodybuilding Championships: IFBB Pro Sami Alhaddad (1st), IFBB Pro Shaun Joseph-Tavernier (2nd), IFBB Pro Mark Dugdale (3rd), IFBB Pro Khalid Almohsinawi (4th), IFBB Pro Marian Cambal (5th), IFBB Pro Raul Carrasco-Jimenez (7th). In his pro debut, IFBB Pro Anthony Bailes (8th). Per "Pro-Muscle Report," the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series Point System (1st automatic qualification, 2nd - 4 Points, 3rd - 3 Points, 4th - 2 Points, 5th - 1 Point) applies to eligibility to compete at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend (September 18-21) in Las Vegas and challenge Olympia 212 Showdown Champion IFBB Pro James 'Flex' Lewis.

Spotted at the BodyPower UK Expo: Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath, IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman, IFBB Pro Dorian Yates, IFBB Pro Jay Cutler, IFBB Pro Rich Gaspari, IFBB Pro Branch Warren, IFBB Pro Shawn Rhoden, IFBB Pro Roelly Winklaar, IFBB Pro Flex Lewis, IFBB Pro Zack Khan, IFBB Pro William Bonac, IFBB Pro Amanda Latona, IFBB Pro Larissa Reis, powerlifter IFBB Pro Johnnie Jackson, "American Gladiators" star 'Titan' Mike O'Hearn, WSM World's Strongest Man Brian Shaw, strongman Mark Felix and Terry Hollands.

Spotted at the IFBB New York Pro Championships (won by IFBB Pro Mamdouh Elssbiay, a.k.a. "Big Ramy"): IFBB Pro Bob Cicherillo, IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson, IFBB Pro Kevin English, IFBB Pro Dennis James, IFBB Pro Brian Yersky, and IFBB Pro Kevin Jordan.

Andrew Oye's Verdict:  A week prior, retired IFBB Pro Michael Francois hosted his annual NPC Mike Francois Classic Bodybuilding Championships in Ohio. Francois, an IFBB Hall of Fame inductee and the Arnold Sports Festival's 1995 IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships winner, once said in an interview, regarding his competitive bodybuilding career, "For me, it was more important to be known to train really hard than winning titles." It's encouraging that Francois gives rising, hard-training athletes the opportunity to possibly reach the full potential that -- with his incredible physique and strong legs (quads and calves) -- he may not have achieved in his brief time on the professional bodybuilding circuit.
