The Item: Career Updates, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Recently Reported: IFBB Pro League athletes had career updates or made recent guest appearances at various sports, bodybuilding, physique and fitness events. The latest "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report" Pro Athletes Roundup includes the ever-changing world of publishing deals. IFBB Pro Dennis Wolf ends his exclusive media contract with his last company and re-signs with the company he had previously left. According to sources, Wolf says, "I regretted leaving. I am so glad to be back."

The "So What?": It seems like just yesterday (a year ago, actually) that I reported that Dennis Wolf had made the switch in companies. Currently on the guest-posing circuit, Wolf took the 5th place spot at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend in September (won by 4-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Jay Cutler) -- a marked improvement from his disappointing non-placing finish in 2009 -- and he did it by releasing his trainer and taking his contest-prep into his own hands. The 31-year-old Las Vegas resident also signed a new sports-nutrition sponsorship contract earlier this year.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: The shuffling of athlete rosters at bodybuilding magazine publishing companies seems to be moving at an even quicker pace. IFBB Pro Fouad Abiad and IFBB Pro Jeff Long recently ended their deals with the company that Dennis Wolf just rejoined. Meanwhile, the company Wolf just departed recently released IFBB Pro Zack Khan from his contract and picked up IFBB Pro Ben Pakulski, who was formerly signed with the company that just re-signed Wolf.

As for Dennis Wolf, his leap in Olympia placings between last year and this year occurred against an identical lineup of competitors (Cutler, IFBB Pro Branch Warren, IFBB Pro Phil Heath, IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson, IFBB Pro Ronny Rockel, IFBB Pro Victor Martinez), so the credit goes to his self-driven preparation. Earlier this year, he managed to match his 3rd place finish at the IFBB New York Pro Bodybuilding Championships from 2007 (won by Warren) in 2010 (won by IFBB Pro Roelly Winklaar). I'm interested to see what Wolf can do on the stage at the Arnold Sports Festival's IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships.
