The Item: Career Updates, Special Appearances, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Recently Reported: IFBB Pro League athletes had career updates or made recent guest appearances at various sports, bodybuilding, physique and fitness events. The latest Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup includes a vet with a comeback story and a crew of scrappy, young beasts.

The "So What?": Over the weekend, IFBB Pro Branch Warren and IFBB Pro Brandon Curry were guest-posers at the 2012 NPC Emerald Cup Bodybuilding Championships in Seattle, Washington. IFBB Pro Al Auguste guest-posed at the 2012 NPC Gateway Classic Bodybuilding Championships in Lake City, Florida. A week ago, IFBB Pro Cedric McMillan hit the stage at the 2012 Panhandle Showdown in Pensacola, Florida, while IFBB Pro Steve Kuclo performed at the 2012 NPC Northern Colorado Championships.

The Emerald Cup celebrated its 30th Anniversary over the weekend. As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," Branch Warren is on a comeback mission, which began with his victory at the Arnold Sports Festival's 2012 IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships in March, following a quad injury in 2011. Brandon Curry placed 7th at his Arnold Classic debut.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: The word is some of the aforementioned athletes are preparing for the upcoming IFBB New York Pro Bodybuilding Championships next month, cramming for the coveted IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series points and targeting the chance to challenge Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend in Las Vegas. Military instructor and rising star Cedric McMillan and rookie pro Mr. USA Steve Kuclo are frontrunners for the show in the NYC. Currently climbing the professional ladder, Brandon Curry should probably see if he can improve on his 10th place finish at last year's NY Pro, but it looks like Curry will skip the "Big Apple" this year.
