ANDREW OYE'S IFBB PRO ATHLETES ROUNDUP: ARNOLD CLASSIC CHAMP FLEX WHEELER, OLYMPIA SHOWDOWN CHAMP FLEX LEWIS, IFBB PRO SHAWN 'FLEXATRON' RHODEN
The Item: Career Updates, Special Appearances, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Recently Reported: IFBB Pro League athletes had career updates or made recent guest appearances at various sports, bodybuilding, physique and fitness events. The latest "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report" Pro Athletes Roundup includes the Flexes - the original Ken "Flex" Wheeler, the young James "Flex" Lewis, and Shawn "Flexatron" Rhoden.

The "So What?":  While some pros (Mr. Olympias IFBB Pro Phil Heath, IFBB Pro Jay Cutler, IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson) make appearances at TheFitExpo and others pros (IFBB Pro Dennis Wolf, IFBB Pro Ben Pakulski, IFBB Pro Evan Centopani) prep for the IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic, others pros are wheelin' and dealin' in the world of contract deals.

Olympia 212 Showdown Champ IFBB Pro Flex Lewis amicably departed the supplement brand of retired IFBB Pro Rich Gaspari (which sponsors IFBB Pro Hidetada Yamagishi and may be eying IFBB Pro Branch Warren) to join the sports-nutrition company whose roster includes IFBB Pro Roelly Winklaar, IFBB Pro Brandon Curry, IFBB Pro Guy Cisternino and IFBB Pro Dallas McCarver. With his own growing business endeavors, IFBB Pro Shawn Rhoden departed the company of 8-time Mr. Olympia and retired IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman (whose lineup includes IFBB Pro Kevin Ofurum, IFBB Pro Maxx Charles, IFBB Pro Jeff Long). Retired IFBB Pro Shawn Ray exited the company where he worked with retired IFBB Pro Kevin Levrone and signed IFBB Pro Aaron Clark and IFBB Pro Justin Compton. IFBB Pro Jon Delarosa re-signed his media contract. (On a side note, a few weeks ago, IFBB Pro Todd Jewell tore his biceps tendon muscle- ironically, not while training but while bowling at a staff holiday party.)

Andrew Oye's Verdict:
Four-time Arnold Classic Champion, Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend runner-up and retired IFBB Pro Flex Wheeler signed on as VP and spokesperson of a New York-based sports-nutrition company that will launch a line under his name. If iconic physiques make for ideal spokesmen (to bolster a team of current competitors on the IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series circuit), new brands might be wise to add veterans like Flex Wheeler to lend knowledge of nutritional supplementation to construct a champion's build.
