The Item: Career Updates, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup

The Scoop: Recently Reported: IFBB Pro League athletes had career updates or made recent guest appearances at various sports, bodybuilding, physique and fitness events. The latest "Andrew Oye's Pro Muscle Report" Pro Athletes Roundup includes "The Blade," a "Hoss" and a "T-Bone."

The "So What?": After nearly a decade in pro bodybuilding and fresh off a triple-victory winning streak, IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson signed a long-awaited media contract. With his trademark conditioning and newly added mass, Jackson fended off young IFBB Pro Phil Health to nab his third IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic title at the Arnold Sports Festival.

IFBB Pro Fouad Abiad, a Canada-based trainer, just landed his first bodybuilding magazine cover, re-signed his sports-nutrition sponsorship contract and signed with a sportswear company. Abiad tells me he is training for the IFBB Tampa Pro Bodybuilding Championships in August and hopes to qualify for a slot at Olympia Weekend.

British IFBB Pro Troy Brown, who last competed in the IFBB Ironman Pro Bodybuilding Championships in February, tells me, "I'm eating very clean, working on weak points and training hard for the Europa in August and the Atlantic City in September." Brown has done TV work and ad spots in the U.K. Next up: "I'm releasing my long-awaited DVD called 'The Beginning' this month, and I'm shooting ' day-in-the-life' video footage."

Andrew Oye's Verdict: As Dexter Jackson, a.k.a. "The Blade," racks up Arnold Classic wins and makes physical improvements, he is a major contender to potentially unseat 2-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Jay Cutler at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend. But why did it take so long for a celebrated vet to land a media contract? Fouad "Hoss" Abiad, who occasionally rocks a Mohawk on stage, is making major moves long-distance, snagging deals without making the move to Cali, the bodybuilding Mecca...yet. Meanwhile, Troy "T-Bone" Brown moved from East London to Canada, seeking new prospects. With his positive outlook, hopefully he'll land some.
