Career Updates, Special Appearances, Andrew Oye's IFBB Pro Athletes Roundup
Recently Announced: Retired IFBB Pro
Kenneth "Flex" Wheeler signed an endorsement deal with HeadBlade, Inc.
One of the most impressive physiques to ever grace a pro bodybuilding stage lends his head as an endorser of the sportily designed skull-scraping razor. He joins a smooth-domed fraternity that includes a fellow IFBB Pro League athlete,
IFBB Pro Toney Freeman
and an MMA Top Dog, UFC Champion Chuck Liddell. "Flex will help expand our lifestyle brand with his regular training and appearances at various competitions," says Todd Greene, President of HeadBlade.
The "So What?":
The company will be a presenting sponsor at the NPC Flex Wheeler Classic Bodybuilding Championships in July. As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," at the Arnold Sports Festival (where Wheeler's deal announcement was made), Flex Wheeler received confirmation that 2007 Arnold Classic Champion IFBB Pro Victor Martinez will participate in the Superstar Seminar at the Flex Wheeler Classic. "[Victor] will be completely rehabbed from his knee injury and will also guest-pose at the night finals," says Wheeler.
Andrew Oye's Verdict:
IFBB Pro Flex Wheeler is also a flexible martial artist that wowed the
bodybuilding industry for nearly 25 years until 2001, doing full splits
on stage at 5'9"and 245 pounds. The IFBB Hall of Fame member is a 4-time
IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Champion and a 4-time Top-3 Runner-Up at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend (during the terms dominated by 6-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Dorian Yates and 8-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman) whose stage presence got him featured in my "Art of War" article series.
