The "So What?": The 2012 event is the second annual Arnold Classic Europe. As reported in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," last year's debut marked the first time the Columbus, Ohio-based Arnold Sports Festival expanded the USA's enormous sports and fitness extravaganza (won this year by "Quadrasaurus" IFBB Pro Branch Warren) to an offshore location. Winner of the 2011 Arnold Classic Europe IFBB Pro Victor Martinez will not defend his title due to an injury sustained in a recent arm-wrestling incident. Scheduled to attend or make appearances in Spain: 2-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath, 8-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman, 2008 Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Dexter Jackson and 4-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Jay Cutler.

The expo features the following competitions and/or exhibitions: Arnold Strongman Classic contest, Arnold Amateur bodybuilding, table football (soccer), powerlifting, armwrestling, athletic fitness, gymnastics, kickboxing, MMA, jiu jitsu, muay thai, kobudo, karate, taekwondo, Olympic combat training, tennis, spinning, cheerleading, fencing and boxing.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: The impressive 3rd place finish of Shawn Rhoden at Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend (won by Phil Heath) two weeks ago makes him a front-runner at the Arnold Classic Europe (an IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series contest for the "Super Bowl of bodybuilding" in 2013), especially since neither of the athletes who bested him in Las Vegas, Nevada, will compete in Spain. Other leading contenders: 2011 Masters Pro World Championships runner-up Toney Freeman, 2009 World's Strongest Bodybuilder Powerlifting Challenge winner Johnnie Jackson, 2-time Mr. Europe Pro Ronny "The Rock" Rockel, 2012 Arnold Classic USA runner-up Dennis Wolf, and 2009 Arnold Amateur winner Roelly Winklaar.
