The "So What?": As previously noted in "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," the Masters Mr. Olympia Championships, last staged in 2003, has been won by IFBB Pro Robby Robinson, IFBB Pro Sonny Schmidt, IFBB Pro Don Youngblood, IFBB Pro Claude Groulx and 5-time Champ IFBB Pro Vince Taylor. The highest Masters-level contest in the International federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness was replaced with the "World Masters Championships" and was won by this year's emcee IFBB Pro Bob Cicherillo in 2006 and by Dexter Jackson in 2011. After nearly a decade, the competition for the IFBB Masters Olympia title returns in 2012 on a large scale, aiming to reclaim its prestige among events like Joe Weider's Olympia Weekend and the Arnold Sports Festival's IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Bodybuilding Championships.

The event's live-broadcast guest commentators will be Hall of Fame IFBB Pro Lee Labrada (a.k.a. "Mass With Class") and legendary 8-time Ms. Olympia IFBB Pro Lenda Murray. Guest posers will include legendary 8-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman, 2-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Phil Heath and IFBB Pro Francis Benfatto. IFBB Pro Mike Quinn (a former competitor in WWE CEO Vince McMahon's WBF World Bodybuilding Federation) withdrew from the 2012 competition due to a quadriceps injury.

Scheduled to appear at the Legends Seminar and/or attend the expo: MUSCLE INK Magazine cover athletes 8-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Lee Haney and TV's "Incredible Hulk" IFBB Pro Lou Ferrigno, as well as 6-time Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Dorian Yates, 1983 Mr. Olympia IFBB Pro Samir Bannout, first-ever Arnold Classic Champion IFBB Pro Rich Gaspari, Hall of Fame athletes IFBB Pro Shawn Ray, IFBB Pro Kevin Levrone and IFBB Pro Flex Wheeler, along with athletes on the competitors list. There will also be a powerlifting extravaganza event.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: Front-runners for the 2012 title include athletes competing on the current IFBB Pro Olympia Qualification Series circuit: 2008 Mr. Olympia, 2011 Pro World Masters Champion and 3-tme Arnold Classic winner Dexter Jackson and Toney Freeman, with a possible push from Troy Alves, Lee Banks, Dennis James, Mike Kefalianos, Ed Nunn, "The Rock" Ronny Rockel, and Bill Wilmore.
