Rating SystemLet's face it. It's a jungle out there. In a sports supplement marketplace crowded with manufacturers (many reputable, some not) making performance claims about literally thousands of products (some true, some not), it can be hard to make a truly informed choice. And yet, the success of your workout regimen (or the maintenance of your health and well-being) often depends on the efficacy of the supplements you purchase. For this reason, ProSource has conducted an intensive product performance evaluation, which is certain to help make your supplement decisions easier and more rewarding than ever. The data from the first stage of this project was derived from what we believe to be the most accurate, straightforward, and unbiased source in the world. That source is you, the sports supplement consumer. The product rating scores throughout this catalog are derived in part from ProSource's extensive and comprehensive Customer Feedback Program. As part of our mission to identify the most efficacious supplements available today, we've surveyed thousands of athletes for their feedback and overall opinions on the products they purchase and use. The areas included in our survey are product quality, product performance, flavor (when applicable), value, and overall satisfaction. Next, the ProSource Product Testing Team performed its own performance evaluation, including in-depth clinical reviews, extensive product testing, comprehensive scientific literature reviews, and in some cases even product-specific laboratory analysis. This information was then combined with that of the first stage to generate the overall rating scores featured throughout this section. The result is an authoritative ranking that ranges from Good (2 stars) to Outstanding (5 stars). Not surprisingly, there are very few 5-star ratings, as a product has to be truly outstanding in the majority of the areas assessed in this program. A number of products have earned 4-star ratings, indicating a prevalence of quality among the many premium products featured in this lineup. Any product rated less than 2 stars (Good) has not met ProSource’s high standards for performance and quality, and does not appear here. In some cases, a product may be too new, or sales activity for a product may have been too low to obtain a sufficient amount of feedback to generate what we would consider a reliable rating. In this case, the product receives either no rating (listed as N/R) or an overall rating is determined solely by our product testing staff.
