Creatine and R-alpha Lipoic Acid with Quality Protein Blend
Smart Gainer is a comprehensive gainer formula that includes 3 grams of creatine malate to facilitate mass-building growth, MCT oil to assist recovery, fructose and maltodextrin for carbohydrates and, of special note, 100 mg per serving of bio-available R-alpha lipoic acid, which can have a positive effect on glucose utilization and energy production. The protein mix is a proprietary blend of cross flow microfiltrated whey isolate, with whey and soy concentrate, which is a fairly high-shelf protein combination for this category. All in all, this is a good weight gain formula with one exception—although the fructose and maltodextrin can be of benefit as a slightly more gradual uptake carbohydrate source, a high quality complex carb such as oat bran, would have made it much better.
