Different than the standard omega-3, this product has a higher ratio (5:1) of EPA:DHA which the manufacturer claims can decrease muscle catabolism. EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) is shown in research to block excessive muscle breakdown by reducing catabolic biochemical activity that destroys muscle protein.
