The Item: Career Updates
The Scoop: I caught up with IFBB Pro Aiman Faour, who I first met at the 2009 Los Angeles FitExpo in January. He competed that weekend at the Iron Man Pro. Faour recently released two training DVDs, "Aiman Faour's Mass Control" and "Aiman's Workout," which are distributed via his website (www.aimanfaour.com). He plans to expand distribution soon. "My goal as a personal trainer is to help my clients reach their personal best," he explains. "Clients have individual goals and needs, so I like to use a one-on-one approach to personalize my training system."
The "So What?":
The 5'10", 300-pound mass mountain, who competes at about 265 lbs., earned his pro card at the 2005 Middle East Championships and last competed at the 2009 New York Pro. "I was born and raised in Lebanon, and then spent 17 years in Germany," Faour tells me. Two years ago he relocated to bodybuilding's capital. "I moved to California, to train in the Mecca – Gold's Gym Venice. I want to make an impact on bodybuilding in the U.S." But first, the ladder has a few rungs that need climbing. Faour has yet to crack the Top Ten in a pro contest, but he's working to change that. "My next show will be the 2010 Iron Man Pro. I'm determined to reach my goals and improve my overall placings in more IFBB shows. My dream of success keeps me motivated and I don’t plan to give up."
Andrew Oye's verdict: Fauor has competed in 13 professional competitions in four years. Huge, hungry and determined is a combo that could yield greater accomplishments.
