The Item: Contest Results, New IFBB Pro League Cards
The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend, Cecil Croasdale won the Super-Heavyweight Class and Overall title at the UKBFF UK British Bodybuilding Championships. His size and conditioning helped Croasdale conquer the other Class winners: -- Haraldos Dambraugkas, Jon Griffiths, Chris Jones and Paul Ennis - and earned Croasdale an IFBB Pro card.
The "So What?": Prior to this year's victory, new IFBB Pro Cecil Croasdale placed 3rd in the Heavyweight Class at last year's British Championships. He also competed in the event back in 1993, when he placed 2nd in the Light-Heavyweight Class. The UKBFF British Bodybuilding Championships Overall title was won by IFBB Pro Alvin Small in 2010 and won by IFBB Pro Zack Khan in 2009.
Andrew Oye's Verdict: I reported in my column, "Andrew Oye's Pro-Muscle Report," that the IFBB British Grand Prix Pro Bodybuilding Championships (won by IFBB Pro Branch Warren and IFBB Pro Flex Lewis) were revived in 2011, after about seven years without pro bodybuilding competitions in the UK. This, along with the debut of the IFBB Pro Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic Europe (won by IFBB Pro Victor Martinez) earlier this month, provides more opportunities for the future British pro bodybuilders that emerge from the UKBFF Championships.
