As major league baseball enters the last full month of the regular season, there are still multiple team and individual titles up for grabs all over the league.   The American and Nation League wildcard race is as tight as ever, and although "King Albert" (Albert Pujols) is clearly the favorite to win the NL MVP, the AL MVP could be had by any one of five players: Derek Jeter, Miguel Cabrera, Joe Mauer, Mark Teixeira or Bobby Abreu.  And with former Cy Young winner Chris Carpenter returning to his old form, he joins his Cardinals teammate Adam Wainwright, and last year's Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum in a close race for the NL's top pitcher of the year award.

But perhaps the most compelling battle is the one for the NL Rookie of the Year award.  In a season featuring a multitude of breakout first-year position players such as Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen, and St. Louis Cardinals rookie slugger Colby Rasmus, a number of dynamic rookie pitchers have broken from the pack as well, including J.A. Happ of the Phillies and Randy Wells of the Chicago Cubs.  However, no one is perhaps more deserving of the prestigious National League Rookie of the Year award than Atlanta Braves pitching phenom Tommy Hanson.

A late entrant into the race for National League Rookie of the Year, Hanson is rapidly gaining ground on the leaders with each and every game he pitches.  After putting on perhaps the most dominant pitching performance ever seen at the prestigious Arizona Fall League in 2008, (5-0, with a 0.63 ERA, 49K's, just 10 hits allowed in 28 2/3 innings, and winning MVP) Hanson began the season just on the cusp of breaking into the big leagues.  Finally getting called up by the Braves in early June, Hanson hasn't disappointed; he was named June's NL Rookie of the Month and is currently 9-3 with a 3.07 ERA.

With a mere 2.72 ERA dating back to June 12, Hanson has helped keep his team in the NL wild card race.  Hanson's 4-1 record and 2.93 ERA in the month of August, is tops among fellow Braves pitchers and is among the elite of major league starting pitchers.  Although other talented rookies around the league have drawn considerable attention and are having remarkable years as well, Hanson has already constructed an impressive resume, and he continues to get better with each and every start.

Tommy credits some of his early success to maintaining a sound nutritional routine. "Nutrition is 100% a big deal in regard to my performance," says Hanson.  "One product I actually really enjoy is the Supreme Protein bar."  Tommy joined the prestigious protein bar makers' Team Supreme last October after his history making performance at the Arizona Fall League.  "They've helped out substantially with my overall endurance and strength," Hanson says of the bars.  "Being on the road as much as I am, it's tough to get quality nutritious food.  Supreme Protein bars are a quick and easy way to get high-quality protein into my diet."

Like virtually everyone who tries Supreme Protein's top selling product, Tommy prefers the taste of the Supreme Protein bars to any other protein bar on the market.  "Supreme Protein bars are by far the best-tasting protein bars I've ever had," he says.

Now, fueled by an elite protein source and possessed of an awesome array of physical gifts and pitching acumen, he hopes to continue his torrid pace right across the finish line of the 2009 MLB season and pick up the first of what will surely be many individual awards in his promising career.
