The 2007 Colorado show shocker that left everyone green with envy

With Darrem Charles, Branch Warren, Dennis James and Silvio
Samuel on the hit list of the 2007 Colorado Pro the build up was
generating more rumble than a Jenny Craig clients hunger pain. Branch
Warren had only recently won the New York Pro and Dennis James was
coming to avenge his loss of the big apple. The outcome was as mixed up
as Paris Hilton's perception of reality when these two muscle mutants
placed outside of the top six and into bodybuilding obscurity.
15th: Leo Ingram
14th: Khalid Amohsinawi
13th: Will Harris
12th: Tricky Jackson
11th: Ed Van Amsterdam
10th: Omar Deckard
Not
nearly as big and full as he was when he turned pro at last years
USA's, Omar was very flat in comparison to what he is capable of. His
long legs were very narrow and his flare had almost disappeared
completely. By rectifying his glycogen stores he can improve much with
what he already has.
9th: Johnnie Jackson
This year
has been the worst year for J.J. since he turned pro. He has had a
lengthy duration away from the stage and his return was way before his
time. His legs, which were always his weak point, need ample time to
catch up to his upper body which is still no where near last year's
peak.
8th: Dennis James
The Menace came as big as elephant poop but the price he paid for his
mass route left him so smooth you could probably produce soap from him
if desired. Apart from Cutler and Coleman, James is probably the
biggest mass monster on the block which suites his physique...if he is
in shape, but that he was not. His legs really feel the brunt of this
strategy which came across not only smooth but as small as I have ever
seen them. Today his muscles just seemed way too behaved; we like to
see "The Menace" out of control.
7th: Branch Warren
On common occasions, Warren has the freaky proportions that provide an
R rating at bodybuilding events such as this. Although the freaky
detail was visible throughout his quads he was carrying so much water
that a flat pebble could be skimmed across him and ends up in Idaho.
Warren has the type of physique that has to be 100% "on" to dominate
the show. If he only manages 97%, he ends up in 7th place.
6th: George Farah
"Bullet Proof" Farah as usual brought his A game and had seemingly
packed some extra muscle in his luggage before flying to Colorado. If
you were to cut out Georg's trapezius, 9 out of ten would declare them
reminiscent of the great Dorian Yates. Due to being shot in the stomach
several years ago he has a hard time showing a symmetrical six pack in
most poses and his quad/hamstring tie-in is pale in comparison to the
rest of his impressive physique. Farah was happy with the result and
always enjoys the challenge of competition
5th: David Henry
The "Giant
Killer" was battling for victory here last year when he was in with a
chance of causing an upset over Darrem Charles and the eventual winner
Phil Heath. He eventually finished third but this year he slipped down
to a lowly 5th. David was much the same as last year but the
competition around him had moved forward. His placing was well received
by David who was just happy to make the top five but he will have to
increase his height to push for pro victory. Yes, a hard task indeed.
4th: Ronny Rockel
This had to be
the biggest upset of the evening. The giant German had packed on more
mass and came in more sliced than ever before. His symmetry is flawless
and his proportions flow into each other without any road humps. If we
want to nit pick I would draw attention to his back which was slightly
shallow in depth and his glutes weren't as cut up as the rest of him.
The disappointment was visible upon his fourth place announcement and
the crowd agreed. Ronny has paid his dues on the pro circuit but he
continues to get more shafts than a prison inmate named Bernard who
insists on wearing a G-string visible above his trouser waistline.
3rd: Silvio Samuel
Since his
departure from "Team Milos", many speculated whether he could get into
the kind of shape that has emerged his presence as a threat to the
victors circle in every show he has entered this year. That question
was answered when he came to town with sliced muscle and wafer thin
skin that showed mass which was almost 3-D due to the immense fullness
of his muscle bellies. It appears that his new trainer - Charles Glass
has been centering his focus onto Silvio's posing which was much
improved and rewarded. Normally coming under scrutiny for relaxing his
thighs during the mandatory round, Samuel kept them flexed tight the
entire duration and it gave his legs an entire different look. His
placing was well received by the jubilant Samuel and is now taking a
well deserved break until his debut at the Mr. Olympia.

1st: Kai Green
The stripper turned pro bodybuilder was in incredible form at Colorado.
Striations oozed from every angle as he perfectly went from one
transition of poses to the next. His condition was matched by his
vastly evolved muscle size, especially throughout the lower body. His
shortfalls are his short clavicle but this is only apparent on the
relaxed front pose. Last year Kai failed to make any impression on the
bodybuilding circuit but how things have evolved for the East coast
comrade. Less than two months ago Green had hardly any...um...green and
was forced to ponder his future as a professional bodybuilder. This
weekend he took home $25,000 for the win, $1,000 for the people's
choice award and $10,000 for the best poser award. With $36,000 sitting
in his bank I think Kai has finally found his calling.
