Lock in Her Astounding Physique Transformation


Is there anything more exciting than a radical, positive transformation of the way we look and feel? The days go by and the pounds drop off, revealing the leaner, firmer, more vital and vigorous self we always knew was in there somewhere. Our self-esteem rises and we meet each day with a renewed sense of well-being.

Of course, there are sacrifices to be made. Comfort foods to be avoided, trips to the gym that take priority over nights curled up with a pint of ice cream and a movie. But our motivation and discipline are at a peak; every day we receive positive reinforcement from our friends and family.

And then comes the day we achieve our goal. Well-wishers congratulate us, the confetti flies ... and all we have to do is maintain this goal weight and physique for the rest of our lives. Suddenly, every carb-laden snack avoided doesn't come with its own built-in validation. And who wants to go to the gym every day when we could be showing off our trim new selves at parties and get-togethers where temptation lurks around every corner?

Worse yet, our bodies haven't adapted entirely to what we'd like to believe is the "new normal." Homeostasis is a term that refers to the body's systemic efforts to maintain stability in response to fluctuations in its environment. Any sudden change in conditions--reduced caloric intake, increased activity--are treated as an aberration. Thus, in the short term, your body regards decreases in fat stores as a situation to be corrected--a goal it will pursue aggressively every time you opt for a second slice of pizza or an evening spent in front of the TV.

So, what to do? Maintaining a hyper-vigilant, 24-hour-a-day, no-compromise fat-loss regimen is a certain path to frustration and eventual failure. It all starts with finding healthy, nutritionally powerful foods you like. "I don't miss all the fast food I used to eat," Tiffany says, "because I remember what I used to feel like after I ate that stuff. I felt terrible. I used to eat three meals with huge portions, up to 3000 calories a day. It was so embarrassing to go into a store and not be able to wear any of the clothes they sold.  My face would also break out a lot from the food I was eating and that really bothered me. Obviously, when you're consuming six small meals a day, organization is key. Having the food you want on hand--in Tiffany's case, chicken, turkey, extra lean cuts of meat, egg whites, raw vegetables, yogurt, and nuts--and packing meals ahead of time go a long way toward staying on nutritional course throughout the day. Supplementation is important, too.

"Protein shakes and protein bars are ideal for filling the gaps between breakfast, lunch, and dinner," Tiffany says. "Oh, I still have pictures of myself from my brother's birthday in 2007. Today, I can't believe that was me. I was way bigger then anyone else there. I'm never going back to those days again!"

"I like to switch up what exercises I do for each specific body part, that's why they are not listed. I also like to try to take the weekend off. If I do end up going, I will just do cardio and abs.
