The Item: Contest Results/New IFBB Pro League Cards
The Scoop: Just Announced: Over the weekend,
Robert Burneika was named the Overall title winner at the 2010 NPC
National Bodybuilding, Figure & Bikini Championships, dubbed "Hotlanta Posedown" in Atlanta, GA. Standing 5'9" and competing at about 253 lbs., Burneika brought a big back and powerfully built legs to outshine his fellow Super Heavyweights, winning the Class and status as a new IFBB Pro League athlete. Joining Burneika, the top athletes in each weight class were also awarded IFBB pro cards.
Big Fred Smalls used a flaring Front Lat Spread to fly to the top of the Heavyweight Class. Light Heavyweight winner Branden Ray looked complete with a chiseled mid-section. Ripped Roger Ferrer won the Middleweight Class, which consistently spits out 1st place finishers with incredible conditioning at Nationals. A Pennsylvania orthopaedic surgeon, Victor Prisk was victorious in the Welterweight Class. A conditioned, flowing physique and good stage movement helped Leonardo Pacheco take the Lightweight Class (where he finished 9th last year).
Richard Siegelman took 1st place in the Bantamweight Class.
The "So What?": Built like a mean bull, IFBB Pro Robert Burneika was a pre-show favorite because he finished in the Runner-up spot in the Super Heavyweight Class at the 2009 Nationals.
Andrew Oye's Verdict: Burneika's road to the pros is special because the Lithuania native once worked out in a makeshift home-gym and now trains at a decked-out gym in Las Vegas, the current home of 4-time
Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler.
