The Item: Contest Results/New IFBB Pro League Cards

The Scoop: Over the weekend, the 2010 Masters National Bodybuilding Championships awarded a new set of athletes with IFBB Pro League cards. Leading the pack in Pittsburgh was Jerome Ferguson, winner of the Super-Heavyweight Class and the Overall 40+ title. Also earning pro status were class/age-group winners David Watson (Masters Heavyweight 40+), Randy Reittinger (Masters Super-Heavyweight 50+) and Robert Basset (Masters Middleweight 60+)

The "So What?": Ferguson, nicknamed " Hollywood," is a personal trainer in Los Angeles, as well as an actor and licensed aviator. The 5'10", 265-pounder is celebrating a blessed summer - getting married earlier this month and finally turning pro after a decade of grinding on the competitive amateur bodybuilding circuit.

Andrew Oye's verdict: The accomplishment is cool; yet, the sport is still waiting for an athlete who wins the Masters Nationals to make a noticeable dent in the IFBB Pro rankings, particularly at the Olympia.
