The Item: Career Updates, Publishing Contract Signings

The Scoop: Just announced: The legendary 8-time Mr. Olympia and retired IFBB Pro Ronnie Coleman signs with Team MD. According to the official announcement, the man who redefined the limits of muscularity and "changed the sport forever" will supply a monthly magazine column that launches next month.

The "So What?": Considered by some bodybuilding followers to be one of the most impressive Mr. Olympia champions in IFBB Pro League history, Coleman joins a top-heavy team that includes another greatest-of-all-time nominee with a record eight Mr. Olympia titles - IFBB Pro Lee Haney, along with 6-time Mr. Olympia Dorian Yates, and 4-time and reigning Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: I recently reported that the promoter of the IFBB Pro World Masters Bodybuilding Championships (scheduled for December 10, 2011, in Miami, FL.) announced Colman's potential participation in the event. With talk of reemerging from retirement and an unfading visibility on the bodybuilding scene, Coleman's legacy continues to flex its relevance.
