The Item: IFBB Pro League Contest Results

The Scoop: Recently Announced: This month, IFBB Pro Richard "Tricky" Jackson trounced the competition, winning 1st place at the 2011 IFBB Iowa Pro Bodybuilding Championships. The 2nd place winner was IFBB Pro Angel Rangel Vargas. The 3rd place finisher was IFBB Pro Petr Vanis. The Top 3 qualify to compete at the 2012 Olympia 212 Showdown in Las Vegas.

The "So What?": This event was the second contest to host the new 212 Division, formerly the 202 and Under Division. The previous weekend saw IFBB Pro Stan McQuay win the first 212 title at the Sacramento Pro Bodybuilding Championships. The results in Iowa mark the first 212 Class victory for veteran IFBB Pro Tricky Jackson, who was a prominent proponent of and competitor in the 202 Class. The Iowa Pro (where IFBB Pro Andy Haman guest posed) puts a final pin in the 2011 IFBB Pro League contest calendar for 212/202 competitive pro bodybuilders.

Andrew Oye's verdict: The Top 3 competitors at the Iowa Pro and Sac Pro were lucky to skate under the gate that just closed on Top 3 finishers earning Olympia qualifications. In 2012, a new IFBB Pro League rule will now only qualify the 1st place winners of most contests to compete at the Olympia.
