The Item: Career Updates / Special Appearances

The Scoop: Just announced: IFBB Pro Kai Greene makes a special appearance in Dubai this week (January 25-27). Known for his attention-grabbing stage routines, the two-time Arnold Classic Champion will host a seminar called "Guide to Bodybuilding and Posing."

The "So What?": This seminar marks Greene's first guest appearance in the United Arab Emirates. I recently reported that Greene would not defend his 2010 title at the 2011 Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic in Columbus in March.

Andrew Oye's Verdict: It seems the extreme heat that surrounded Greene in 2009 and early 2010 is cooling just a tad, in favor of other top-tier rivalries and the hype of up-and-coming IFBB Pro League rookies. Skipping the contest where he is king (Arnold Classic) means Greene needs special appearances and a higher placing at the 2011 Olympia (7th in 2010) to remind bodybuilding media, scorekeepers and fans that the beast is still growling.
